Optimus Prime surprises over 2,000 students in West Virginia

The world's only fan-built AOE replica of Optimus Prime and his driver, Joe Fiduccia, recently visited the small town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia ... continuing their mission to inspire thousands across small-town North America. And the impact was nothing short of life-changing for many.

"I was contacted by Dylan Handley from City Of Point Pleasant Festivals and Events a few months ago, who was organizing a community block party for Halloween," says Fiduccia. "He had seen some of our social media posts, and felt the addition of Optimus would become a feature attraction for families to enjoy. We established a partnership, and I graciously accepted Handley's invitation to be part of it."

Always looking for ways to make the biggest impact possible during their travels, Fiduccia immediately suggested the idea of visiting their regional schools earlier in the week to deliver an anti-bully presentation to the students of Mason County.

Fiduccia says: "I take a lot of pride in sharing Optimus with fans. But whenever I'm invited into a community, especially the smaller ones, I try my best to do more than just 'park the truck for a day'. I work hard to inspire young minds alongside a fictional hero they already know and look up to."

Tapping into his connections within the community, Handley was able to gain the support of the entire Mason County school district. In total, permission was granted for Joe to deliver an anti-bully presentation to 7 of the regional schools.

Fiduccia arrived on Sunday, October 27th to prepare. Over the next several days, he drove Optimus up and down the county ... visiting Point Pleasant Primary School, Point Pleasant Intermediate School, Roosevelt Elementary, Leon Elementary, Ashton Elementary, Beale Elementary, and New Haven Elementary.

He offered the students words of encouragement, while sharing his own personal experiences with bullying and how it led to building Optimus Prime. The students were offered the chance to get pictures after the presentation was complete, and they all received anti-bully pledge cards to sign, making them part of 'Team Prime.' Even a Bumblebee replica made a surprise entrance for them as well.

"We gave these students an opportunity to be part of an elite force, while encouraging them to rise up in their own way against bullies. It was an experience I know most of them will never forget. And I hope it makes a positive difference in the paths each of them chooses to take in their lives."

Several local businesses also supported their mission, whether it was for staging grounds or providing the necessary funding for Optimus and Joe to visit the area schools. This includes Point Financial Services Insurance , Farmers Bank , Mountaineer Power Plant, Letart Corporation Sand & Gravel , APG Polytech, ICL-IP America Inc , as well as Superintendent Farmer and the Mason County Board of Education .

Even Point Pleasant's Mayor Tatterson along with US Congresswoman Carol Miller happened to be in town, and couldn't miss the opportunity to grab a picture with Optimus.

"I realize work doesn't stop just because the Transformers are in town," jokes Fiduccia. "Thus I did not get the opportunity to meet all of the businesses who helped make this happen. But their sponsorship did not go unnoticed, and was very much appreciated. I am especially grateful to Dylan for organizing virtually all of it. Without his connections and diligence, it is unlikely we would have been able to pull it off."

Zach and the team at John Sang Ford stepped up to provide a safe haven and indoor wash bay for Prime. A Transformers-edition Bumblebee Camaro even joined in for the school presentations, driven by owner Virginia Marsh. In fact, the pair made the voyage from over 5 hours away to enhance the Transformers-themed experience for the students.

Fiduccia tells us: "John Sang Ford willingly provided a space for us to keep Prime safe and secured. Without this garage to store him, we would not have been able to make the trip. And Virginia's willingness to take several days off of work to drive Bee a great distance speaks volumes of her support of our ongoing mission. I am extremely grateful to all of them for helping me make a positive impact in Mason County."

The school presentations were further supported by an unprecedented number of local and state police, as well as the various township fire departments. This includes the West Virginia State Police , Mason County Sheriff's Office , Point Pleasant Police , Point Pleasant Fire Department , Flatrock Volunteer Fire Department , and New Haven & Community Volunteer Fire Department , Point and New Haven Police Departments.

Fiduccia explains: "I always try to incorporate these agencies into our presentations. Not only do they help provide a very cool grand entrance for Prime and I, but it promotes community collaboration. When the students see their local heroes siding with Optimus on this mission of anti-bullying, I believe they will be much more inclined to want to be part of it. So I truly appreciated their escorts to each of the schools."

Joe's travels across Mason County did not come without its challenges. Some of the damaged roadways caused one of the welds on Optimus Prime to break apart while in route to a school. But within just a few hours of learning about the damage, Brent Hereford and his students at the Mason County Career Center answered the call and got Prime back up and running in no-time.

"That is one of the reasons I love visiting small towns," says Fiduccia. "The people in these communities rally behind something they truly believe in. I am grateful to Brent and his students for helping me get Prime patched up so we could continue our mission across the county."

Coincidentally after stopping for the repair at the Career Center, the other classrooms in the school learned that Optimus was parked out back. Within minutes, the entire school came outside and swarmed Optimus and Joe while the repair was being made.

"They made an announcement over the PA system that we were parked out back, and I immediately said to myself 'OH NO'," jokes Fiduccia. "But for the most part the students were all very respectful of Prime. It was great to see grown teens get excited in the same way some of the elementary students do."

In the end, over 2,000 elementary and intermediate school students witnessed something they had never seen before. A surprise visit from their favorite fictional hero, with a motivating message of anti-bullying attached to it. Fiduccia believes the students will never forget their visit from Optimus, and hopes his message will resonate with more than the typical few.

"The timing of your visit couldn't have been better, as October is anti-bully month," says Handley. With recent threats to the schools, it was a great opportunity to reach what I refer to as 'the future of Mason county' with a positive message."

Fiduccia ended his visit to Mason County by participating in a two-hour community Block Party for Halloween ... the original reason for their invitation to Point Pleasant. Prime and Joe were greeted by an overwhelming number of families who expressed their appreciation for visiting their small town. Several of the school students also came up to Joe, wanting pictures together and showing off the pledge cards they signed after the presentation was completed.

Preliminary numbers point to a block party attendance between 7,000 - 8,000 people, which is a new record for the community.

"I can not thank Dylan and the Point Pleasant community enough for the outpouring of support. They welcomed us into their small town as if we were A-list celebrities. They appreciated our visit immensely, and couldn't say enough about the positive message we brought to the kids. I can confidently say the impact we made in this region will remain with all of them for years to come."

"I've made friends for life down here, and it would be an honor to return anytime. I even get to say I've seen the Mothman statue . Even though I had no idea who the Mothman was until arriving in Point Pleasant."

Pax Museum hits record-breaking attendance w/Optimus Prime

"In just four hours, the museum broke all previous attendance records. I was blown away by the amount of people who came to support us."

The world's only fan-built AOE replica of Optimus Prime and his driver, Joe Fiduccia, made the voyage to Leonardtown, Maryland this Fall for the first time in their six years of travel. And they left behind a lasting impression for the residents of a small but close-knit community.

"I was contacted by Leo Gillespie, who is the president of the Ridge Lions Club for the region," says Fiduccia. "He had been following our social media pages for a while, and reached out at the beginning of the year to discuss ideas on bringing us down."

Fiduccia and Gillespie brainstormed ways to make the biggest impact possible with Prime. They considered participation in a variety of events throughout the year. But when the option of rolling in the Veteran's Day parade came up, Fiduccia immediately suggested that as the most preferred option.

He tells us: "I do not have a military background, but I appreciate what the military has done for America. I even have a tribute on Optimus specifically giving thanks to our veterans. In all the years we've had the truck, we never joined a Veteran's Day parade. So that seemed like a no-brainer, and something I definitely felt was the best fit."

Gillespie agreed, and worked diligently to find the sponsorship necessary to welcome Joe into Maryland. With the logistics finally in place by the Spring time, the countdown began to their pending visit in November.

Word about the Autobot leader's planned trip spread quickly throughout the region, including to many of the local businesses. One of them, the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum , heard about the appearance with Prime and Joe and contacted Gillespie to see if an added stop could be arranged.

"Typically when I book these event appearances, I do not schedule anything else in that region," Fiduccia explains. "I do this to stay fair to the event organizers who already put in the original legwork and financing to bring us down. So when Leo first told me about the museum's interest, I wasn't sure if it was a good idea."

Gillespie understood Joe's concerns, but reassured him that an appearance at the museum would only enhance the overall visit to Maryland for their parade. So a detour was officially scheduled one day prior to the parade.

And in the midst of all those discussions, the duo even planned a bully awareness presentation at one of the area elementary schools.

Fiduccia ultimately made the voyage to Maryland on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Under no specific direction from Joe, and all on his own, Leo had arranged a surprise welcome with some of the local sponsors as well as a personal escort with the fire, police, and sheriff departments into Leonardtown.

"That was a surprise I was not expecting. They met me at the county line and escorted me the remainder of the way. For some perspective, that's almost a full 60 minute drive."

The following day, Fiduccia stopped at Greenview Knolls Elementary school to deliver his anti-bullying presentation. About 400 students in grades 1 - 5 enjoyed a 45 minute visit from Team Prime outdoors. They received anti-bully pledge cards , interacted with some of the first responders, and a few lucky students even got photos in the driver seat of Bumblebee.

Once the school presentation was complete, and after visiting a few area sponsors throughout the afternoon, Fiduccia prepared Optimus for the museum detour on Friday.

"Mother nature can be finicky when I'm out with Prime," says Joe. "She didn't necessarily cooperate very well for the museum visit. It was cold, windy, and eventually rainy. But we showed up despite the weather, and so did many others."

Optimus arrived at the museum by 9:30 Friday morning. He and a Bumblebee replica parked alongside an actual Blue Angel jet plane, in and among several other vintage and military aircraft. They planned to stay onsite for up to 4 hours. A line began forming at the museum entrance before they opened, and remained in place for the next 3 hours!

" I was blown away by the amount of people who came to support us. As soon as the doors opened, people immediately paid their donation to the museum and came outside to see us. Dozens of kids were dressed in Transformers costumes, while some families drove from over 3 hours away. The crowds got bigger and bigger as the hours progressed, and neither rain nor wind stopped them from wanting to see us."

In total, the museum had over 1,000 visitors enter the doors within those 4 hours. That number represents a record-breaking attendance in the museum's history.

"They have events throughout the year, including a Wings and Wheels car show that is usually a big hit. I was told that their biggest event turnout was in the range of 750 - 850 visitors. That included the vehicle owners as well as visitors to the car show. Yet our 4-hour appearance with Optimus Prime ... in the rain and cold ... blew past those numbers and set a new attendance record for the museum. Now THAT is something to be proud of."

Following the success of the museum appearance, Fiduccia's last stop was back to the original reason they were in town - the Veteran's Day parade. One of the largest parades on the east coast, Prime and Joe led a fleet of emergency responders into the town square, and were greeted with cheers, applause, and smiles from fans of all ages along the way.

"It was the perfect way to end our first-ever voyage to the southern tip of Maryland. Not only by honoring the veterans who made it all possible in the first place. But also seeing how the community rallied around our story with this inspiring fictional hero."

Fiduccia said none of this would have been possible without the support of his new friend, Leo Gillespie.

"Leo was a HUGE advocate for us. He was met with opposition when the idea was first brought up with the committee. But he was persistent, and ultimately got them to agree. He went above and beyond in hospitality, he did everything possible to help spread the word, AND he even made me an honorary Lion's Club member (which is an honor I do not take lightly). In short, Leo deserves all the gratitude and praise we can offer him. Because he helped put together a memorable experience that southern Maryland has never seen before. And one I will never forget."

Optimus Prime visits Watertown schools on anti-bully mission

"These students will never forget the day the Transformers showed up at their school with an important message against bullying."

Optimus Prime and his driver, Joe Fiduccia, recently visited Watertown, NY to continue their anti-bully mission . Representing the first time the heroic duo brought their campaign into New York state since 2022.

"I was contacted by Amy Briggs, a 4th grade teacher from Watertown, back in the Fall of 2022," says Fiduccia. "She had seen the news of our recent visit to regions further north, and expressed interest in welcoming us into her district as well. Especially following recent incidents of bullying that affected her personally."

Fiduccia started a dialogue with Mrs. Briggs, providing the necessary information on what the presentation looks like and what it would take logistically to deliver it at their location. A lot of time passed, and it took some patience. But the school's Principal Jessica Blair finally agreed to bring them up for a visit in the Fall of 2023.

"I really wanted to make it up there for the students, but the biggest roadblock in any of these visits is financing," Fiduccia explains. "The further I go, the more expensive it gets. Most schools don't have the budget to get us there, and the last thing I aim to do is take away from their fundraising. So I was very excited when Principal Blair allocated the funding to make it happen."

Fiduccia scheduled his visit at Ohio Elementary School for September 2023. Given the longer drive distance, he recommended that Principal Blair contacts the other schools in the region to see about scheduling a visit as well. Over the course of just one week, five other Watertown elementary schools agreed to host a presentation while Joe was in town with Optimus:

- Ohio Elementary

- Starbuck Elementary

- Knickerbocker Elementary

- Northern Elementary

- Sherman Elementary

In total, that equates to over 1,500 students who received an opportunity for a visit from Team Prime. And this is exactly what Fiduccia always aims to do ... positively impacting these regions as much as possible with a message against bullying.

Area first responders, including the City of Watertown Fire Dept, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police, Guilfoyle Ambulance Service, and the City of Watertown Police also helped Joe by providing a grand lights and sirens entrance at each of the five schools.

In fact it was the largest showing of police and fire support Team Prime has ever had for a school rollup.

"I always appreciate the assistance from these departments," says Fiduccia. "Obviously the students love hearing and seeing the emergency responders, but for me it also promotes a sense of positive unity and partnership among all of us. The students see the police and fire departments joining with Optimus on this mission against bullies, and thus naturally want to be part of that elite team as well."

Fiduccia stopped at all five elementary schools across two days. He delivered his 45-minute presentation to the students outside on school grounds. During this time, he shares some of his experiences with bullies, how it led to building Optimus, while also offering suggestions on what to do when confronted by a bully. Though Optimus does not transform, Prime speaks to the kids as well through an amplified audio system mounted to the truck.

When the presentation ends, the students are offered an option to get pictures with the Transformer replica. They also receive anti-bully pledge cards to sign, if desired.

As if all of this wasn't enough, their trusted scout Bumblebee even made a surprise appearance as well!

"While it's not always possible, I do my best to include Bumblebee in the presentation since many of the kids connect more deeply with the fictional character. Unfortunately I did not know anyone local to Watertown with a Bumblebee replica. So I asked my buddy Shane from Pennsylvania if he'd be open to helping out. He took a full day off of work and left at 5:30 in the morning to make it up there for the students. I was extremely grateful for his support."

Since Fiduccia was in town for a few days, the fire department agreed to house him and Prime overnight at their station, keeping them both out of sight from any lingering Decepticons.

"Having a safe place to clean and store Prime on longer trips is always essential part to the success of these presentations. The Administrative Fire Captain, Richard Little (as well as everyone else in the department), was incredibly courteous and welcoming. The hospitality they all provided far exceeded any basic expectations I had in mind."

Fiduccia told us it was hard to leave Watertown when the last school visit ended.

"It was clear the students and teachers enjoyed our visit. They were all incredibly excited, especially living in a region that doesn't often get to see or experience things like this. But I do believe I've made a positive and lasting impact in their community. It would be an honor to return anytime."

Fiduccia gets a lot of 'online hate' for his replica truck from people in the Transformers fandom and trucking community. But he says that doesn't stop him from wanting to get out there to inspire young minds with it.

"So many people get caught up in the short-sighted realities of the truck itself (it doesn't transform, it's not the real Optimus, older version trucks were better, etc.). They just don't see what these kids see when I roll into those school grounds. They see a TRUE hero."

"Real or not, I always tell people that these students will never forget the day Optimus Prime and Bumblebee visited their school. And unless you were there in person, you can't fully understand the true impact of our visit."

Fiduccia said his ultimate goal would be to obtain sponsored or anonymous funding that will help him reach schools all over the USA and Canada at little-to-no cost to the districts. But in the short term, he hopes his message about joining Team Prime and rising up to bullies in their own way will resonate with more than your typical few students.

"I greatly appreciate the Watertown school administration's support and willingness to consider this unique presentation for their students. I am extremely grateful to all of the local agencies that rallied to support it, and have no doubt the students gained something positive from the experience."

Capreol becomes 2nd region in Canada to host bully presentation w/Optimus Prime

"I know these kids will never forget that day, and neither will I."

Optimus Prime and his driver, Joe Fiduccia, recently visited the far reaches of northern Ontario for a local convention and to spread awareness about bullying. This trip in 2023 was the first time they brought their campaign to rise up against bullies into Canada.

On the way back home to the USA, Fiduccia was honored to accept an offer he couldn't refuse - serving as a Keynote Speaker for a local college, while also delivering his bully awareness presentation to a nearby elementary school. All in an attempt to inspire a few more young minds before leaving Canada.

Cody Cacciotti, Fiduccia's contact from a 2019 event at the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum (and subsequent friend who also helped him build the Matrix of Leadership ), contacted Joe about a contest and awards ceremony they were hosting at Cambrian College . The event was centered around aspiring entrepreneurs who wanted a chance to pitch their unique ideas for a chance to win cash prizes.

"Cody knew I was planning a trip into Timmins Ontario around the same time, and asked if I would be willing to be a Keynote Speaker at this college event ... while simultaneously scheduling a local school presentation nearby in Capreol. Thus maximizing my trip through Ontario."

"I wanted the folks in Timmins to be the first to host these presentations, since they were the ones who had been planning for years to bring me up there. But it made sense to make this extra stop in Capreol as well, since I was already passing through the region. So I was humbled and honored to accept Cody's invitation, and agreed to do this on my return trip from Timmins."

Cacciotti and Fiduccia had been in talks for over a year, attempting to schedule a visit in conjunction with Fiduccia's pending trip further north. They coordinated with C.R. Judd Public School in Capreol to host a bully awareness presentation as well. But the uncertainty of the ongoing pandemic just kept delaying that voyage.

"We were supposed to do this in 2022, but I couldn't physically make it up there. When they finally opened the borders again, we were able to revisit this and plan for a 2023 appearance."

Fiduccia stopped first at Cambrian College with Optimus Prime late in April 2023, serving as a Keynote Speaker at their Student Innovation Challenge . He spent about 25 minutes sharing his journey with Optimus to the students. Enlightening them on the hardships an entrepreneurial path will create, the struggles and changes that can follow, while also encouraging them to use their passion to break through those barriers.

Optimus remained on display outside to inspire some visual creativity, alongside another custom build known as the Lil Big Rig (owned by Cambrian College).

"When I finished my presentation, some of the students actually surprised me with an award of their own - a custom box and plaque with my logo engraved. It was such a kind gesture, and a true testament towards how much they appreciated me doing this for them."

The following day after the awards ceremony, Fiduccia drove Optimus into Capreol with Cacciotti to deliver a bully awareness presentation at C.R. Judd Public School. The Northern Ontario Railroad Museum, the Greater Sudbury Police Service and Capreol Fire Fighters Club all came together to support this mission for the kids in their community.

Fiduccia delivered his presentation to the students outside on school grounds. The police and fire departments helped him with a grand lights and sirens entrance. Both the school and the museum shared in the expenses to help fund this detour.

"It was actually snowing quite heavily during the entire presentation. I can officially say that was a first for me. But the folks up there are built tough. They were attentive, engaged, and seemed to enjoy our visit. The snow didn't bother them one bit."

Fiduccia believes in finding ways to make the biggest impact possible when he travels through communities. He says he was glad to make this final stop in Capreol, who simultaneously became the 2nd region in Canada to host a bully awareness presentation alongside Optimus Prime.

He believes the kids will never forget the day Optimus showed up expectedly, and that he hopes the message about bullying will resonate with more than your typical few.

Cacciotti, along with representatives from the community and the museum board members, attended to watch the presentation. Their stop made headlines in a local paper, and the school's principal was also very appreciative for the opportunity.

"I wanted to extend our gratitude to all of you for arranging this presentation," says Principal Susan Cousineau. "I know our students will be having lots of conversations at home about what they saw and the important message they heard. After seeing Optimus Prime and listening to Mr. Joe's personal anti-bullying message, our Jaguars are excited to join Team prime and Rise Up Against Bullies!"

"The roads of Northern Ontario were rough on Optimus," says Fiduccia. "But the hospitality I experienced throughout the region made this trip one of the most enjoyable voyages I've ever had in Canada. Everyone was extremely welcoming. You could tell they appreciated the effort I made to get up there and share our replica as well as our story with them."

"It was hard to leave, especially because I have no idea when I'll ever be back up there again. But I would welcome the chance to return to this region of Canada anytime. And I am eternally grateful for the opportunities my friend Cody presented to help me make a positive impact during my visit to Canada."

DARE Timmins partners with Timminscon to bring Optimus Prime into northern Ontario

"They became the first organization anywhere in Canada to host our anti-bullying presentations. The impact we made in this community was amazing."

Optimus Prime and his driver reached new territory in Canada recently. And the positive impact they made continues to echo throughout the entire region, long after their departure.

For the first time ever, the world's only Hasbro-approved AOE replica of Optimus Prime visited Timmins, Ontario (Canada). Otherwise known as the city with a heart of gold. Their mission - to inspire hundreds of school students while also bringing an attraction like no other to a local comic convention.

"We have never driven Optimus that far north into Ontario," says Prime's owner Joe Fiduccia. "The furthest I had been was about 4 hours south in Sudbury, back in 2019. Despite the snow, it is absolutely beautiful up there."

In 2019, Fiduccia was contacted by Jason Denis shortly after his trip to Sudbury. Jason, the organizer of Timminscon (also known as the Northern Ontario Expo ), was interested in getting Prime to appear at their upcoming comic convention. But he lacked the funding and sponsorship to pull it off.

Months later, a local organization called D.A.R.E. Timmins stepped up to help. D.A.R.E. Timmins offers an ever evolving, evidence-based educational program that helps youth understand the importance of good decision making skills so that they can live safe and healthy lives. The organization currently educates over 600 local students each year in both French and English languages.

After learning of the bully awareness presentations Fiduccia offers alongside Optimus Prime, the chair of the organization (Francine Denis), along with their Board of Directors, approached Jason with a partnership idea. One that would combine an appearance of Optimus at Timminscon with anti-bully presentations at their local elementary schools.

"I always try to make the biggest impact possible in any new community I visit," says Fiduccia. "So when Jason reached out to me inquiring about a visit to their schools, I was all over the idea."

Timminscon and D.A.R.E. Timmins came to an agreement with Joe, planning surprise presentations at several elementary schools with Optimus before parking the truck at the convention for fans to enjoy. The trip was officially booked for April of 2020, and everyone was eager to see it unfold.

But the universe had other plans.

Enter COVID ... a pandemic that instantly changed the world. The uncertainty along with ongoing restrictions that followed not only cancelled the pending 2020 appearance, but also shuttered any attempts to reschedule it for years to follow.

"The border restrictions prevented me from crossing into Canada," Fiduccia explains. "That was really hard to accept. We were looking forward to offering a fantastic opportunity for a far northern community. We planned on giving children and families an experience they've never seen before. But we lacked the ability to physically implement it. So when the borders opened again in late 2022, we were finally able to revisit this and plan for a 2023 appearance."

With months of logistical prepping in place, Fiduccia finally made the long voyage into northern Ontario from Pennsylvania, reaching Timmins on April 9th, 2023 (Easter Sunday). He and Prime then delivered their bully awareness presentations to local elementary schools across the next several days before parking Optimus at Timminscon the following weekend.

Even their scout Bumblebee joined them as an added surprise for the kids.

Fiduccia explains: "it is an incredible feeling to inspire so many unsuspecting school students alongside what is arguably the world's most inspiring fictional hero. None of them knew we were coming to their school. And I know they will never forget the day we showed up unexpectedly with an important message to rise up against bullies."

With the help of the Timmins Police and Northern College Police Foundations , the Transformer trio visited 8 elementary schools and over 1,600 school students in two days. Their excursions got the attention of CTV News , who even did a full story on one of the presentations.

KINZ and KLOMP , a social media entertainment company that broadcasts out of Timmins, was also at one of the schools to capture footage of their presentation. The video they published went viral, reaching over 1,000,000 Facebook views in just a few days. As of the date this article was written, it remains the widest-reached video they have ever publicly posted.

"Some of the administrators in the region turned down our offer for a school presentation," says Fiduccia. "I wanted to visit more of the elementary schools, but didn't have the approval to do so."

However, in response, D.A.R.E. Timmins partnered with the Timmins Public Library to host a presentation that was open to the public. Strictly for any of the students from those schools that wanted to see the presentation.

"It was offered on Wednesday evening at the library," says Fiduccia. "We had permission from the city to do a presentation for students and families that were interested in coming. About 40 children showed up to watch. In appreciation for making the trip, I offered all of them driver seat photos in Prime. Which is something I usually don't do, and something I didn't offer again anywhere else in Timmins."

Once the school presentations were completed, Fiduccia parked Optimus under a massive tent that was placed alongside the McIntyre Community Centre . Paid attendees for Timminscon were given the option to take photos with the iconic bots all weekend long, completely free of any additional charges.

"I have to admit I was skeptical that Optimus would even fit inside this tent," says Fiduccia. "But it worked!"

He goes on to say the line of people waiting to enter and see the Transformers both Saturday and Sunday was nonstop.

"From the time the convention opened, I was taking photos and working the line until the show closed. I didn't take a break or even eat anything. I simply wanted to ensure everyone had a fair chance for pictures while enjoying the shear presence of these fictional characters."

More than a few families drove from over 5 hours away to visit the Transformers. And several attendees presented Joe with special gifts and keepsakes in appreciation for his trip north.

Timminscon organizer, Jason Denis, says the show itself was an incredible success.

"We had approximately 5,300 people through the doors over the two days. 11 years running, that was easily our best show ever. Last year we drew in about 2,200."

"The roads were rough on Optimus, but the hospitality I experienced in Timmins made this trip one of the most enjoyable voyages I've ever had in Canada," says Fiduccia. The people were extremely welcoming. You could tell they really appreciated the effort we made to get up there and share our replica with them."

Fiduccia said he also could not have made this trip without the help of The Bucket Shop, Inc, ... who offered Prime a safe haven and indoor cleaning bay as needed all week long.

"Paul, Scott, Meaghan, and everyone I met there were absolutely amazing. They went FAR above and beyond to help me care for Prime, even offering to re-weld a cracked vanity plate at no charge. I could tell they enjoyed having me there, and it was actually quite sad to pull out of their bay that final time. But I know I've gained friends for life in this place."

Optimus Prime and screen-used Megatron trucks REUNITE

We need a truce.

All I want is to be back in charge.

Megatron is out of hiding and ready to take command once again, but this time under the watchful eye of Optimus Prime.

For the first time since Transformers: Dark Of The Moon was released in theaters, Megatron and Optimus Prime are reuniting in a big way. In fact, these two iconic bots have formed a temporary alliance, presenting fans of all ages with an opportunity that has never been offered before.

The 2006 Mack Granite military truck was converted to portray Megatron's vehicle form in the third cinematic film released under director Michael Bay in 2011. Since then, Megatron has appeared at various locations across America before landing at Mack Trucks Historical Museum in Allentown, PA.

The museum has remained closed since the start of the pandemic. As such, Megatron remained in hiding and could not be seen by the general public. But the museum has been undergoing some major renovations, and is now scheduled to reopen in a big way this summer.

The Mack Museum has partnered with JAR Entertainment, LLC and Optimus Is Here to reunite the screen-used Megatron with the world's only fan-built AOE replica of Optimus Prime for a one-of-a-kind photoshoot.

"We have been in talks with the curator of the Mack Museum for quite some time," says Prime's owner, Joe Fiduccia. "It is very exciting to see this finally coming together."

The Optimus Prime replica truck will be placed directly alongside the screen-used Megatron truck inside the museum's sound room, which offers a very futuristic and fitting backdrop for these two warriors. Event guests will be given an opportunity to take photos with both trucks side-by-side.

This reunion of these two iconic bots is scheduled to be held on SATURDAY JUNE 10th, 2023 at the Mack Trucks Historical Museum at 2402 Lehigh Pkwy S, Allentown, PA. It will be open to the public between the hours of 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Attendees will be offered the option of getting a framed digital photo with both trucks together, completely free of charge. In exchange for the experience, the museum will be asking all visitors for a $5.00 minimum donation per person, with children under the age of 5 granted FREE admission.

ALL proceeds collected on this day will go directly to the Mack Trucks Historical Museum, who relies heavily on fundraisers and donations to remain open for the public.

This reunion also coincides with the new release of Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts on that same weekend.

"Families can make a Transformers-themed weekend from this," Fiduccia says. "They can visit the museum during the day, and then enjoy the new movie in theaters that same night."

In addition to seeing Megatron and Optimus Prime, the freshly renovated museum is scheduled to be fully accessible for the public to enjoy. It will be the first time their doors have been open since the start of 2020.

Additional tribute and replica vehicles from the Transformers series are also expected to join, and will be announced in the coming weeks. Fiduccia says he also plans on offering some added perks, giveaways, and incentives for families who attend.

"This is the first time in Transformers history that both trucks are coming together for the community," says Fiduccia. "It presents fans of all ages the chance to get photos with two iconic movie characters while supporting a museum that has been closed for an extended time. I am very confident the community will come together and rally for this truly unique experience."

Fiduccia says: "I am hopeful for a great turnout. I do realize there are many Transformers fans out there who don't like the Age Of Extinction version of Prime, and who would love to see Megatron reunited with Prime's older Peterbilt version instead. But that option is not available. So I hope our fandom can put those personal preferences aside, and come out to support a unique experience for a great cause."

Team Prime comforts grieving family - Transformers style

"There was no divide, no hidden agendas. No politics, no racism. It was the purest display of human unity I've seen in a long time."

Imagine a child being offered the chance to meet their fictional superhero in real life. Well that is exactly what was planned for a young boy in Danville, Virginia.

6-year-old Levi Burke had a true love for the Transformers , a fictional series that depicts alien robots from another planet who 'transform' into vehicles. Some good (Autobots), some bad (Decepticons).

Late in 2022, Levi was diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) - a rare and aggressive form of cancer that to-date has no known cure. But just like a brave Autobot warrior would do, Levi fought hard. Spending much of his time in the hospital undergoing treatments and surgeries, he held on for over 5 solid months.

Levi also loved car shows. So family and friends rallied to host one just for him. At the center of it all, they were hoping to help Levi meet his idol - Optimus Prime.

"Two weeks ago I received a random inquiry via our website from Levi's older sister (Shanon Burke), inviting me to join them for this car show," says Joe Fiduccia, owner of the world's only full-scale AOE replica of Optimus Prime . "I immediately responded to her with an interest in doing whatever I could to help him smile."

Shanon soon placed Joe in touch with one of the main event coordinators and family friend, Angie Purdy.

"Angie was instrumental in pulling this off," says Joe. "It was clear she had a passion for this event, a love for this family, and a strong desire to do whatever she could to get Prime and I down there for Levi."

Angie and Joe spent hours brainstorming about different ways he could make this visit between Prime and Levi extra special.

Fiduccia says: "I don't usually offer VIP 1:1 experiences anymore unless under special circumstances. But I definitely considered this an exception to that rule. So we came up with a plan to surprise Levi at this house with Optimus Prime, make him feel like a king for 90 minutes, and then head over to the car show together."

He goes on to say: '"there are fees associated with getting Prime anywhere. And the absolute last thing I wanted to do is take any funding away from Levi's family. I insisted to Angie that I would only agree to do this if the funding came from a third party individual and did not affect any of the family's finances or fundraising efforts. Yet within in a matter of hours, Angie received enough donations to cover our costs."

So a date was set, and Fiduccia began his drive in Optimus ... almost 500 miles one-way ... strictly to meet with Levi and offer him the experience of a lifetime. But their voyage would soon take a difficult turn.

"In speaking with the family and Angie, Levi's health was declining rapidly," says Joe. "So I left earlier than anticipated in the hopes I could drive straight to his home before it was too late."

But with less than 2 hours to go until they reached Danville, Joe got the disappointing news that Levi had passed away.

"That was extremely difficult," he said. "Not just for the family and community, but for me too. I did not know the family personally, but I knew enough about Levi's story to feel a special bond with him. So when I saw the text message come through, I actually had to pull over in Optimus just to process those emotions. Something like that has never happened before, and I wasn't sure what to do next."

With the car show still planned, and unclear what the family wanted to do, Joe ultimately decided to continue his journey to Danville in the hopes he could still do something ... anything ... for the Burke family. He arrived there on Friday evening, March 17, 2023. At which point he cleaned Optimus until close to midnight.

The following morning, Joe spoke with Angie as well as another family member, Olivia Wyatt Payne. Apparently the family still wanted to meet Optimus. So the decision was made to move forward with the planned VIP visit. But instead of doing it with Levi, Joe would do it with Levi's family.

"Levi's life revolved around the Transformers," says Joe. "So I wanted to honor that love, and decided to coordinate a visit with Optimus at their residence. Just as I would have done for Levi."

"About 20 family members and friends were waiting when I pulled up. I introduced myself and explained that I am going to do with them what I was going to do with Levi."

Joe spent the next 45 minutes with the family playing a few games, offering special photo ops, explaining a bit about the story behind Optimus, and ultimately offering to treat everyone to some ice cream at a nearby eatery.

"I was fighting the overwhelming emotion to break down in tears," says Joe. "At times I couldn't even get a sentence out. It is rare for that to happen when I do these things with Optimus."

With Levi's sister and his mom (Whitney) in Optimus, Joe drove them into Danville, followed by Levi's family and close friends. They ended up at Hopper's Poppers and enjoyed some ice cream, compliments of Levi's Papa (despite Joe's insistence that it was his treat).

Once finished, they walked outside where Joe handed the Matrix of Leadership to Whitney. He then made Optimus Prime speak a few words of encouragement. The family and children all received several items to keep, and Joe finished by surprising them all with a visit from Prime's friends - Bumblebee and Ironhide . Both of whom dropped everything on Friday to be there for the family.

After spending about 90 minutes total with the vehicles from Team Prime, Joe led the family a mile away into the car show that was being held in Levi's memory.

"As soon as I turned the corner into the parking lot, I was blown away," says Joe. "I could not believe how many people were there for an event that was only planned 10 days prior. There had to be hundreds of cars and possibly a thousand people. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before."

Levi's mom Whitney and his older sister were in Optimus Prime. Some of the other family members were in Ironhide and Bumblebee. As the team entered the parking lot, the entire crowd gathered at the center, surrounding the three vehicles.

Whitney and her daughter stepped down while horns were blaring as a show of support. The rest of the family gathered alongside Optimus while the crowd applauded their strength. Then everyone immediately began walking up to embrace the family and offer their condolences.

A formal prayer was offered a bit later, and the car show eventually ended just before dusk.

Team Prime departed Danville that evening with heavy hearts, and yet a truly soul-fulfilling experience.

"This was one of the most moving and emotional experiences I have ever been part of," says Joe. "Complete strangers from hours away rallied around this young boy and his family. There was no divide, no hidden agendas. No politics, no racism. It was the purest display of human unity I've seen in a long time."

As of the date this article was published, well over $10,000 had been raised to help the family with their medical costs. That number does not include any of the donations they received from the car show.

"This trip took a turn I did not see coming," says Joe. "I didn't know how to respond to it. I was in town, and I wanted to do something for this family. But I also did not want to cast a fictional shadow or fake pretense over his passing. I simply wanted to compliment Levi by honoring his love for the Transformers, while bringing joy and a positive experience for the family at a time of deep sorrow."

"I do believe we succeeded in that secondary mission."

He goes on to say: "I was able to send Levi a video a few days prior to coming. So he did know we existed. But even though we were unable to meet Levi in person, I believe he was there with us the entire time. Looking down with a smile screaming 'this is so cool. I can't believe you got the Transformers to visit me!' That alone is comforting to realize."

Fiduccia says he also could not have made the voyage without the additional help from Patrick and Jennifer from J&J Truck Sales, Inc . in Chatham, VA.

"They offered me a safe haven to store Optimus Prime and clean him as needed. They were extremely hospitable and went the extra mile to meet me during non-business hours. Without a place to do this, we wouldn't have been able to make the journey. They stepped up in a big way, and I really appreciate their willingness to help me pull this off for Levi's family."

Silent sponsor helps Optimus Prime surprise children in Canada

Optimus and his driver cross into Canada just 2 months after their latest visit. All to surprise more Starlight children and offer words of encouragement.

Less than two months after partnering with Starlight Canada to bring some joy for the holidays, Optimus Prime and his driver returned to Canada to do it all over again.

But this time they had some extra help.

For over 30 years, Starlight Canada has been spreading joy to sick kids across the country through a unique blend of hospital to home programs designed for the whole family. Joe Fiduccia, Prime's owner and driver, partnered with them in December 2022 as part of a special event they hosted at various Toys R Us locations in Ontario.

As a result of the video and images that were shared from that experience, new funding from a silent sponsor became available, which presented Fiduccia with an opportunity to do the same thing for additional Starlight families.

"My contact at Starlight messaged me in January, stating a silent sponsor had come forward," he says. "Apparently they were so moved by what we had done in December, that they offered to pay for a return trip."

"I was blown away that our first visit to Canada after 3.5 years would have such a positive and viral impact. I never expected to return so soon."

Shocked at the news but also quite eager to make it happen, Fiduccia immediately began working with Starlight Canada to locate families in and around the lower Ontario region. Half a dozen individual children were finally awarded the opportunity to meet the Autobot leader.

Fiduccia spent the majority of January planning for the trip. He worked with each of the families ahead of time to coordinate the visit, review all of the logistics, timing, and ensure everyone's safety during each visit. Not to mention checking all routes in full detail to confirm Prime was able to reach the residential destinations.

"Driving Optimus on residential roads is tricky, and sometimes impossible," he tells us. "But we found a way to make it work for all of the families. What's cool is that none of the children knew we were coming. And that's exactly how I like it. Seeing their genuine surprise when we turn the corner in Optimus is the best feeling ever."

The trip was originally scheduled for the end of January. But winter weather postponed their visit by a few weeks. It wasn't until early February 2023 that Prime and Joe finally crossed the border.

Across the span of four days, Fiduccia drove Optimus over 900 miles roundtrip. He visited half-a-dozen families in southern Ontario, spending 20-30 minutes with each of them. He offered the children VIP treatment in the form of games, photoshoots, a view from the driver seat of Optimus, gifts, and signed items to keep.

In some cases, additional family members and friends were also present to enjoy the experience. Many of them actually shared with Joe how much they appreciated the surprise visit from Cybertron.

"The funding sponsor remained completely anonymous," says Fiduccia. "They are the reason I was able to come back into Canada, but I have no idea who it was. I wish I could thank them in person, but all I can do is hope I met and exceeded their expectations. Better yet I hope they smiled from their soul after seeing what we had done for those kids."

Fiduccia says he also could not have made the voyage without the additional help from Premier Truck Group of Hamilton.

Our resources are limited, and the last thing I ever aim to do is take away from the already strained finances of the families, the schools, and any of the non-profit agencies. So I'm putting a request out there, asking for someone to come forward (either directly or anonymously) and help provide the funding we need to make these life-changing trips a reality for the kids and families who truly need it."

Optimus Prime partners with Starlight Canada

Optimus Is Here crosses into Canada after 3.5 years to bring some much needed joy for special children, just in time for the holidays!

"I haven't been able to cross into Canada for over 3.5 years. Once those borders opened, it became my mission to get up there for these kids and families before year's end."

Optimus Prime and his owner, Joe Fiduccia, have done some incredible things with the world's only AOE replica across North America. They have spent the better half of 2022 appearing at family-friendly events, raising funds and awareness for various charity organizations, and delivering bully awareness presentations at elementary schools from New York to Texas.

But one area they have not been able to reach in quite some time is Canada.

"The pandemic effectively erased any possibility of visiting our Canadian friends for a very long time," Fiduccia says. "We have not been able to cross the border at all, largely due to the pandemic and the ongoing restrictions that followed."

Joe tells us that when Canada announced they were fully opening the borders at the end of September, it gave him a glimmer of hope to do something special before the year came to an end.

"Even if all I did was drive on the Canadian highways, I know the sight of Optimus Prime would make people smile. In a country that has been through so much, I saw this as an opportunity to bring some joy at a time when families could truly use it."

Fiduccia looked up various events and toy drives in the Ontario region, hoping to find a public event that he could bring Optimus to. Unfortunately, the options were scarce, as very few outdoor events were even taking place that time of year. So he began researching organizations that grant wishes and do special things for children.

That is when he located Starlight Canada .

For over 30 years, Starlight Canada has been spreading joy to sick kids across the country through a unique blend of hospital to home programs designed for the whole family. Fiduccia decided to contact them.

"Almost immediately they responded with genuine excitement," he says. "They told me about a private event they were hosting on December 18th, and I made arrangements with them to be there for it."

While in town, Fiduccia even coordinated several VIP visits for a few special families whose children were unable to attend the private event.

He tells us: "it was important for me to spread as much joy as I could to as many families as possible. It was a trip that made quite the impact. And one I will never forget."

Dakota's Journey Home with Optimus Prime and his community

Optimus Prime joins community effort in escorting 12-year-old home from hospital, hoping the Autobot leader can help instill bravery and courage.

Joe Fiduccia and his family have done some amazing things with the world's only Hasbro-approved replica of Optimus Prime from Transformers: Age Of Extinction. But according to Joe, this particular experience is one of the most memorable for him.

"This trip easily ranks among the TOP 5 moments I've ever been part of with Optimus Prime," he says.

On July 21, 2021, Danielle and John Nace from Nace Transportation, LLC partnered with Fiduccia to bring Optimus into Hershey, Pennsylvania. Their goal - to meet a young boy named Dakota, who earned a discharge from Hershey Children's Hospital after slowly starting to recover from a sudden and aggressive brain tumor.

"Danielle first contacted me in 2020 long before any of this transpired,", says Fiduccia. "Her son Nolan attends a local school we visited with Optimus as part of our bully awareness presentation tour. So she messaged me to express her appreciation. Her son also happens to be friends with Dakota. She contacted me again in June 2021 to share his story...and we immediately started coming up with ways to brighten his spirits."

With the uncertainty of Dakota's situation combined with the ongoing dangers of the pandemic, Joe decided to make a personal video for him. Dakota was immediately excited to see Optimus on the screen and told his friends and family all about it, including Danielle. Who then made it her personal mission to arrange a VIP visit for Dakota.

Shortly thereafter, Danielle and Joe started hatching a plan to meet Dakota in person when it was safe to do so.

Fiduccia tells us: "we were originally going to visit a car show that was being held to raise money for Dakota in late July. Our hope was by then he would be well enough to get a ride in Optimus, and that with the help of local PD and FD, we could create a really cool 'grand entrance' at the show for him."

But Dakota's health, though improving, still wasn't good enough to get him safely into Optimus. So the plans were put on hold until the announcement came that he was getting released from Hershey Medical and heading home. The duo then went into overdrive to make something special happen.

"I spoke with Danielle over the phone at length on July 19th at 11:30 PM, trying to get all of our ducks in a row to coordinate the best experience possible for Dakota the following day. That morning she connected with the local and state police, fire departments, and even PennDOT asking permission for me to pass the open weigh station on the highway we planned to travel."

The following day, they met in Hershey just blocks from the hospital to finalize the plans, before making their way to Dakota.

What transpired after? Well ... just watch the video below. And prepare to be blown away.

Below are several photos taken during the experience along with a video that showcases exactly what unfolded for Dakota and how. The community effort has already touched countless lives, but more importantly, has motivated Dakota to keep healing.

"I was truly honored to be part of something so amazing. This right here is what Team Prime is all about, and represents exactly the type of positive approach to life I want my son to have."

Fiduccia says "most people didn't even know that July 20, the day of the escort, also happened to be my mom's birthday."

Joe's mom (aka "Nana") passed away suddenly and unexpectedly the day before Thanksgiving 2020. �� July 20th turned out to be the first birthday they were forced to 'celebrate' without her.

"Deciding as a family what to do and whether or not to even make this trip for Dakota was difficult for us. But ultimately we agreed to make the voyage down for him, because I know that's what our Nana would have wanted us to do."

He goes on to say: "before leaving the hospital, I presented a replica of the Allspark shard to Dakota. This is a relic that gives the Transformers new life. Optimus Prime and his owner visit Egg Harbor Township in New Jersey, encouraging over 200 students to rise up against bullies!

"This was the first school we've visited since November of 2020. And I can already tell this experience will remain one of my favorites in 2021."

That is a message from Joe Fiduccia, owner of the world's only Hasbro-approved replica of Optimus Prime from Transformers: Age Of Extinction. An ordinary dad who continues to use his replica of Optimus as a symbol of hope and encouragement for children around the globe. Creating what he calls an 'elite force against bullies'.

Fiduccia drives Optimus Prime to schools around the country, encouraging children to rise up with Team Prime against bullies. A lifetime victim of bullying himself, his presentation has helped students understand that they are not alone in how they feel. And with the help of Optimus has positively motivated thousands of school students from Pennsylvania to Texas.

Their first trip in 2021 brought him back to his childhood home state of New Jersey. Optimus and Fiduccia traveled to Egg Harbor Township to visit the students at Atlantic Christian School . The visit was fully sponsored by a local dentist who agreed to cover the expenses and help support his community. Allowing the school to bring Optimus into town at zero cost to them.

"I think it's an amazing thing you're doing," says Atlantic Smiles, LLC owner Marc Pukenas. "I am proud to be part of it."

With the help of the Egg Harbor Police and the Scullvile Volunteer Fire Department , Fiduccia coordinated a lights and sirens entrance for the students who were waiting outside the school. He then spent about 45 minutes speaking with them, sharing his story about bullying while offering them some insights about how to deal with bullies.

“If you’re being bullied, I want you to know something that took me a long time to realize. More often than not, it has nothing to do with you, or anything you have said or done. When bullies target you for a random reason, it's usually because of something that’s going on in their own life that they are trying to forget or deflect,” Fiduccia said during his presentation.

"Don't ever be afraid to stand up for yourself. But just as Optimus would do, it's up to you to also walk a higher path and show others through action how bullies will not impact your life or your dreams."

When the presentation was complete, students were invited up one class at a time for individual photos alongside Optimus, before receiving anti-bully pledge cards from Team Prime.

"I want these kids to understand that they are not alone. I know all-to-well the negative effects bullies can have of good people. I've seen it, and I've dealt with it all my life. Even to this day. But when they see us roll up in Optimus...when they hear what I have to say...they actually feel empowered. And I know at least some of them walk away viewing life a bit differently because of our visit."

While this is only the first of several planned visits across the country in 2021, Fiduccia believes his trip to Egg Harbor Township will become one of the most memorable experiences for him and for the students who were in attendance.

"This was an incredible day for me personally," he says. "It was great to get back out again after a very long and trying winter. We're finally out there doing what we love to do - inspiring a new generation of heroes to believe in themselves, and their abilities."

Prime owner builds 3x3-ft ALLSPARK replica from Transformers

Over the years, Joe Fiduccia and his family have certainly showcased their skills, their determination, and their love for some of the most iconic fictional characters. Almost always for a special cause or an inspiring reason. And while their newest replica prop is no different, it has a truly unique meaning that makes it one of their most valuable assets.

Early in 2020, Fiduccia decided to attempt replicating the Allspark seen in the very first Transformers cinematic film. For those who don't know much about the Allspark, it is an ancient and powerful Cybertronian artifact that has the power to bring technology to life. It can turn almost anything into a Transformer, and even restores battle-damaged bots. Locating and protecting this one artifact was actually the focal point of the original cinematic movie.

Fiduccia doesn't come with a professional degree in prop making, nor much experience. But like everything else, he's never been afraid to try new things. He started with a basic vision of building an oversize replica Allspark that could easily be transported and displayed at events alongside Optimus Prime and his 11-ft cosplay .

He decided to use plexiglass sheets for the task. His first challenge was drawing the cut lines onto each sheet, which on average took him about 5 days per sheet to finish. He used printed pages of the Allspark for visual reference, and eventually completed the templates for all six pieces of the cube in just over a month.

His next step was figuring out how to assemble them into a box. His original plan was to use a combination of magnets and detachable internal brackets. But after fiddling with that design for a while, he was disappointed with the overall rigidity and needed to come up with a better solution.

Then, in March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic surfaced. Which put his Allspark project on hold indefinitely.

"We are self-employed. Our businesses were shuttered literally overnight. And all of the events we were scheduled to attend in the months ahead were cancelled. I had no financing or motivation to continue with the project," says Fiduccia.

The plexiglass sheets sat idle in Joe's basement for almost 8 months. Then tragedy struck, which changed his world forever. And yet motivated him to complete it.

Joe and his family found their mom at her home, lifeless. She passed away suddenly and unexpectedly the day before Thanksgiving 2020.

"I am heartbroken," explains Joe. "You wake up each day knowing there aren't any guarantees in life. And that our end can come at anytime. But the eve of an extended holiday weekend that was supposed to be celebratory was not one of those days in my mind."

Approximately one month after his mother's passing, combined with the ongoing struggles brought on by the pandemic, Fiduccia found himself in a very dark place. That is when he decided to resume work on the Allspark.

He says: "I figured if the Transformers can find new life and hope through this artifact, than so can I. Sitting around in sorrow was not helping."

So Joe dusted off the plexiglass and immediately got back to work. He figured out a new (more rigid) solution for assembling the Allspark using sheets of plywood backing with removable brackets. All that was left was to begin cutting out of the components of each sheet.

"The cutting took forever," he says. "All I had to work with was a small rotary tool. I was in my basement for a month cutting these, and probably burned through a dozen discs. But eventually I finished cutting all of the sheets."

Add a little paint and some tribute stands, and Joe's 14-month Allspark project was officially finished. It measures approximately 3x3-ft square, which (based on his research) makes it the largest known fan-built Allspark replica in the world. It weighs about 70 pounds, and takes Joe 30 minutes to assemble.

Joe's Allspark can be collapsed and transported inside of Optimus Prime , which allows him to showcase it at any event he attends. He intends to display the Allspark next to his replica truck or alongside his 11-ft Optimus cosplay for fan photos. He said one day he may add some lighting to it, and even design a bracket system so it can be mounted on the back of Optimus for parades and local rides.

His latest project represents just one more fun prop that helps bring his truly unique Transformers-themed exhibit to life for all ages. Between the truck, cosplay, sword, and now the Allspark...it's an exhibit that even rivals the props seen at Universal Studios.

"Ultimately, my motivation to finish this came from my mom. I am well aware of the fact that it isn't perfect. But I also know she is up there smiling down at me. I can hear her telling me 'great job Joey. You never cease to amaze me.' That alone makes the struggle and any imperfections worthwhile, as I believe it truly will rejuvenate me and help me climb out of this darkness. Just like it does for the Transformers."

Joe debuted the completed Allspark in a video documentary (below) in March 2021. As of the time this article was written, the Allspark was not yet debuted in a public setting.

"It's been a very difficult year. Children need us now more than ever. We are 'primed' and ready to deliver an important message in a very safe manner, even to school districts that are not permitted to host large assemblies."

A lifetime victim of bullying himself, he shares a bit about his experiences with bullies while providing students with some useful tips. His presentation has helped students understand that they are not alone in how they feel, and with the help of Optimus has positively motivated thousands of children.

Now he has modified this unique presentation so that schools around the country can take advantage of it in a safe and socially distanced manner.

"I understand most districts are very limited in what they can do," says Fiduccia. "With the ongoing uncertainty of the pandemic and the restrictions involved, schools can't host large assemblies. I totally get it. Yet that doesn't mean the students can't benefit from a positively motivated visit that is offered in a very safe way."

Fiduccia has adapted his presentation to accommodate virtually any school district, regardless of their restrictions. He is now offering a scaled down version of the presentation 100% outdoors, to individual classrooms and smaller groups. One that has already been delivered with great success to almost a dozen schools since 2020.

Fiduccia explains: "instead of bringing the entire school outside and rolling up in Optimus with a police or fire escort, we park Optimus on school grounds for the better part of a day. Instead of one single presentation to everyone, classes are scheduled to come outside individually or in small clusters to meet Optimus at designated times (e.g. every 20 minutes)."

"The students can safely stand at least 6-feet apart alongside Optimus, while I speak to them for about 10 minutes on the topic of bullying," he says. "Though the content and topics are reduced because of the shorter time, the same general message is conveyed."

Students are usually then invited to take class photos with Optimus before receiving anti-bully pledge cards, which are sanitized ahead of time and usually distributed internally by teachers and staff.

Joe tells us even if he has to be onsite for 2 days in order to accommodate districts who are following a hybrid schedule, than that's what he'll do.

"I know what it's like to be bullied," says Fiduccia. "I have been bullied my entire life. And even though many students are not physically in a building all week like they used to be, bullying is still very present. Especially online. So this is my way of reaching the children who need something to stand behind. Someone to look up to. Quite honestly it's a welcome break from the norm that is both fun and educational. Offered during one of the most difficult year's of their childhood."

"I fully realize that not all of the children believe in Optimus or our mission against bullies. But regardless of what they believe in the world of Transformers, I never want them to stop believing in themselves and their potential. So even if just one child walks away that day with a newfound sense of confidence in joining Team Prime, I'll take it. Because that is one more individual who has pledged with us to make the world a better place."

Optimus, local police and fire lead VIP escort for a boy with cancer

"We want you to walk into that hospital with bravery and courage young warrior, just like Optimus Prime and these men and women in uniform."

No one ever looks forward to entering the doors of a children's hospital for chemo treatments. But on November 18th, 2020, one young warrior walked in with his head held high. Thanks to a surprise visit by a giant alien robot from Cybertron, alongside several men and women in uniform.

9-year-old Imanuel was diagnosed with stage 4 non-hodgkin's lymphoma just one month before his birthday in September 2020. The youth football captain was getting ready to transfer to a new hospital in Philadelphia for ongoing treatment. A local truck group named t he New England Ram Club put out a call on social media for prayers and support. They were also attempting to organize a rally for Imanuel, but the timing, weather, pandemic restrictions, and Imanuel's treatments made scheduling a gathering difficult.

One of the club members, Ed Avery, shared Immanuel's story with a friend in the Transformers world, named Joe Fiduccia. Joe is the owner of the world's only Hasbro-approved replica of Optimus Prime from the movie Transformers: Age of Extinction. That same day, he happily agreed to create a 3-minute personalized video for Imanuel...joining several others who wanted to help cheer him up virtually .

But after hearing how excited Imanuel was to receive the video from Optimus, Fiduccia decided to take things one step further.

"I was informed that Imanuel was home for a short time, getting ready to transfer to a new hospital in just 4 days," says Fiduccia. "So I pitched the idea to the truck club of surprising Imanuel with Optimus Prime at his residence, and then offering him a VIP escort from his home to the hospital."

Avery loved the idea, and within a matter of hours, received the full support and bare minimum funding (via donations from members of the truck club ) to help pull this off.

"When I got the call that we were good to go, I was elated," explains Fiduccia. "The adrenaline started pumping and I immediately shifted into high gear to do everything I could to make this experience one that Imanuel would never forget."

Fiduccia coordinated the experience of a lifetime for this young boy. He was able to obtain support from the Gloucester City, NJ Police , the Gloucester City Fire Department , and the Delaware River Port Authority - DRPA . With the help of Imanuel's family members, they rallied together and arranged a socially-distanced surprise visit at a marina just one block from Imanuel's residence.

The following day, they returned to escort Imanuel 40 minutes from his home to St. Christopher's Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. Where he was greeted by the hospital social worker, doctors, staff, and even the CEO.

And the best part - ALL of it was organized within just 72 hours.

"I am moved beyond words to see how quickly these agencies came together for Imanuel," says Fiduccia. "Up until that day, he and his family were total strangers to all of us. And yet we all found a way to unite for this one cause. It was truly goosebumps the entire time. This experience would not have been what it was without their help and support. 'Thank you' just doesn't cut it."

"My goal in the end is simple - I want him to walk in those hospital doors with bravery and courage. Knowing Optimus and Team Prime are behind him all the way."

Fiduccia goes on to say: "this is what I live for. This is what Optimus Prime was made for. I would love nothing more than to travel all over the country and offer similar experiences for children who could use the boost. Not only does our presence motivate them to smile, but it helps bring some hope and joy to a family that desperately needs it. Not to mention it also becomes a moment of positivity that the world can rally around."

Elementary students pledge to rise up against bullies alongside Optimus Prime

"Bullies will never stop. And therefore, neither will we."

Who has pledged to use his replica of Optimus as a symbol of hope and encouragement for children around the globe. Creating what he calls an 'elite force against bullies'.

"Optimus Prime is one of the most iconic fictional characters in the world," says Fiduccia. "He stands for everything that's right, and always leads with high morals and integrity. So back in early 2019, I decided it was time we get beyond just displaying the truck on a show floor. It was time we get out there and use it for something that could potentially change the lives of thousands of children."

Fiduccia explains that 2019 was a turning point for him: "several partners of mine, many whom I considered friends, turned out to the be the very bullies I was trying to avoid. And some of them were just relentless in their attacks to defame me with false rumors. It was an all-too-familiar feeling for me. And it was at that moment I decided to stand up to them. But in a way they likely never expected."

Optimus and Joe travel all over the country with Optimus, visiting schools and encouraging children to join 'Team Prime' and rise up against bullies through a very unique and fun presentation. Fiduccia and his family recently brought their replica truck to the Pleasant Valley Elementary School in Kunkletown, Pennsylvania. Which also happens to be in their own backyard.

They contacted the school's principal, and within 2 weeks, Optimus was waiting outside for the children.

"We do a lot more than just park the truck on school grounds," explains Fiduccia. "Typically we have a 25-30 minute presentation about rising up against bullies . But we have modified our approach for a post-COVID era, where most schools are not permitted to hold assemblies of any kind. We came up with a much shorter socially-distanced presentation which we can deliver to one or two classrooms at a time over the course of several hours. And even just a five minute discussion with these children still manages to get the point across."

Fiduccia has helped students understand that they are not alone in how they feel, and has positively motivated thousands of them. The students also walk away with anti-bully pledge card s that they can choose to sign.

"I know what it's like to be bullied. I have been bullied my entire life. Even as a grown adult, it still happens more often then you think. But there is a major difference between now and back when I was in elementary school. Because now I understand that in most cases, it's the bullies who are the ones that have their own issues and struggles they are dealing with. They are just choosing to bully myself and others because of a perceived weakness or just plain jealousy. They also bully others to take their minds off of the major stresses in life that are weighing them down. Almost like a cry for help."

Fiduccia goes on to say: "these kids will question why the bullies keep coming after them. As if they did something to deserve it. But I want them to realize that in most cases, a bully's attack has nothing to do with anything they said or did. And that they should never let a bully stand in the way of living their life and pursuing their dreams. Just as I did with Optimus Prime."

Optimus Prime surprises 40 children with new school backpacks

It's not often that children walk into school one day expecting a visit from Cybertron. But that's exactly what happened for a select group of kids at Hamilton Elementary School in Sciota, PA this month.

Joe Fiduccia, owner of the world's only full-scale Optimus Prime truck replica, partnered with Amanda Mullikin of Inch By Inch Daycare LLC as well as the Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder Company to surprise some elementary school kids with a visit from Optimus Prime, handing out 40 new backpacks stuffed with new school supplies.

"The pandemic has hurt all of us, "explains Fiduccia. "Normally this time of year, I would be traveling to schools all over the country with Optimus as part of our anti-bully campaign . Unfortunately but understandably, most schools aren't considering any programs for the entire school year."

"So I tried to come up with a creative and safe way to reach at least some children with Optimus, as I know it would totally make their days a bit brighter. That's when the idea of a socially-distanced backpack delivery in Optimus Prime came to mind."

"This experience actually took several months to coordinate," says Fiduccia. "I started by writing a Facebook post in a local community group back in early July, soliciting help from anyone who was willing to assist me in creating a totally unique and very memorable experience for school children. Mrs. Mullikin messaged me privately within 30 minutes, immediately offering her services."

Amanda Mullikin, owner of Inch by Inch Daycare LLC in Mt. Pocono, agreed to provide more than 3 dozen backpacks and supplies for students. "I decided to support this because I love to volunteer. I am also a mother of four. My oldest has Down syndrome, [and] ever since he was diagnosed I went out and educated myself to help him along his journey of life. He is why I love educating children and helping children in need."

Each backpack has a folder, colored pencils, erasers, crayons, writing pencils, pencils sharpener, and a few gifts from Optimus as well. Newly stuffed backpacks now at the ready, Fiduccia just needed to locate a school willing to embrace this unique idea. So he began reaching out to elementary schools in the Pocono region, and eventually found a willing candidate at Hamilton Elementary school in Sciota, PA.

" Principal Karen Houck was immediately on board," explains Fiduccia. "She responded right away and absolutely loved the idea. She was very willing to accommodate us and offered to do whatever she could to make it happen. Together we came up with a strategy to make sure this experience was 100% safe, socially distanced, and most important...impactful."

The special visit finally took place on school grounds - Tuesday Sept 22, 2020. Principal Houck selected the lucky winners, and brought them outside around 2:00 PM during school hours. Joined by a lights and sirens escort from Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder Company , Optimus Prime rolled up to the surprise of the children waiting.

"That is always my favorite part of these experiences," says Fiduccia. "Watching their faces when Optimus rolls up with a local police or fire escort out of nowhere. It simply makes them crazy because that is the last thing they are expecting. And in that single moment of joy, all of their troubles instantly disappear."

Once parked, Fiduccia got very creative with the children. In an effort to promote social distancing, he remained in the vehicle and used the truck's amplified audio system to project robotic voiceovers. He explained who they were, why Optimus was there, and even did a round of Transformers Trivia before making Optimus himself speak a few words to the children.

When that was all over, Amanda was asked to come up to an open door on Optimus, revealing the 40 backpacks for the children. With the help of Principal Houck, teachers and staff, Amanda carefully passed out the backpacks while the students picked them up one at a time.

And as if that wasn't enough, the children were invited up close to Optimus for a personal photo before heading back inside the school.

"What an incredible experience," says Fiduccia. "In a matter of seconds, these children went from experiencing the ongoing uncertainty brought on by COVID to pure euphoria and joy...completely forgetting about all of the stresses that are weighing them down. This is what I live for. And I could not have done it without the help of Amanda, and the support of Principal Houck."

Amanda shared why she believes her donation will go a long way towards inspiring these kids: "I feel my donation will impact the children a lot. I feel if children see people go out of their ways to help others, [then] they will go out of their way to help [others in the future]. Plus I think a visit from Optimus will get the children so excited, becoming a memory that they will never forget."

Father / son build 7-foot Metroplex Transformer during quarantine

What does the family behind a full-scale replica of Optimus Prime do when isolation seems to be the new norm? Why...build a G1-inspired 7-foot tall Metroplex Transformer of course!

Joe and his son Ryan Fiduccia recently completed an 11-foot tall G1-inspired cosplay suit of Optimus Prime. And just when you thought they were done, SURPRISE! They kick-started a new build immediately thereafter.

"Ryan loves the G1 Transformers series," explains Joe. "All Spring and into early Summer, he kept asking me about the possibility of building Metroplex. He did a lot of research, and even presented me with an entire packet of pictures, closeups, ideas, and requests that he put together specifically for this build."

"His passion for this project was inspiring to see. I just couldn't say no."

Joe goes on to say: "I was exhausted from building Optimus. You could say I was totally done with foam projects for 2020. But I was impressed with Ryan's drive to build a Transformer for himself. So as a dad, I had to suck it up and support him."

Thus the Fiduccia boys, along with support from wife and mom Ania Fiduccia, started piecing together their very own Metroplex Transformer in June 2020...just a few weeks after they completed their Optimus cosplay . But unlike Optimus, Metroplex was not designed to be worn. Instead he is a stand-alone Transformer that can be placed on display virtually anywhere.

With the exception of the foam itself, the Fiduccia boys primarily used scrap materials from their basement. These include PVC pipe, cardboard, conduit, old plastic bats, wood trim, and more. Both Ryan and Joe started from the bottom of Metroplex and worked their way up to his head, estimating all measurements and scale by eye using low-resolution photos.

"We originally wanted to make it 4-feet tall,", says Ryan. "But once we finished the legs, we realized we would have to make it higher in order to maintain the proper scale. Though neither one of us expected it to be almost 7-feet tall!"

Ryan and Joe worked on Metroplex together throughout most of the summer, finally completing it in mid-August. And this isn't just an ordinary statue. In fact their G1-inspired build offers quite a bit extra, including:

full-motion legs, arms, elbows, and head
removable side-arm guns that also rotate 360 degrees
led lighting in the eyes, chest, and top-chest command center
voices of Metroplex projected through an internal bluetooth speaker
detachable body parts for easier transport, when needed

"I was very impressed with what we accomplished in a relatively short time. I did most of the larger pieces, while Ryan focused on mostly the smaller detail pieces. It's not perfect," says Joe, "but it's our first attempt at building the Metroplex character. It was almost as complicated as Optimus because of the added details only seen on Metroplex, which became quite frustrating at times."

"But overall my son is very pleased with the results. He has learned a lot about prop making, and we bonded quite a bit because of it. So that alone makes the entire project worthwhile."

Joe goes on to say: "let's be real. The pandemic has hurt ALL of us. With the ongoing uncertainty and high-risks attributed to leaving our house, we were poised for summer of isolation...which can definitely affect one's pysche. Especially a pre-teen. So this was one of those projects that helped keep our minds occupied in a positive way."

"The world is a very dark place right now," says Joe. "It's easy for anyone to fall into that hole of boredom and depression. So my hope in building Metroplex with Ryan this summer is that it helps keep him on a positive track, and builds his confidence for future projects."

Joe tell us that Metroplex would not have been possible without some outside help. In his own words: "fortunately we had some leftover foam from our other cosplay. But the pandemic has really hurt us financially, and we didn't have the means to take on this project. Then out of nowhere, we received a very generous and unexpected donation from a lovely family, offered in kind simply to help keep us going...to which we are eternally grateful for. So we applied much of that towards this father/son build."

As for their plans on what to do with Metroplex now that it is finished, Ryan tells us: "we will have to rearrange some things in our house, but it will definitely go into my Transformers room. We may also bring it to indoor shows from time to time, placing it on display next to Optimus for fans to see."

When asked about plans on building another Transformer in the near future, Joe laughed with abundant clarity: "Ryan is already talking about a new project with another G1 titan. But I am done for 2020. I have no plans on cutting or even looking at another piece of foam until the New Year. Then again, I'm a father who never stops trying to inspire my son. So...anything can happen."

11-foot G1-inspired Optimus Prime cosplay by "Optimus Is Here"

You may have already read about the world's 1st and (currently) ONLY fan-built AOE replica of the Optimus Prime truck rolling across North America for some great causes . And now the family behind this replica truck has raised the stakes...big time!

Joe, Ania, and Ryan Fiduccia recently completed their latest project - building an 11-foot tall G1-inspired cosplay suit of Optimus Prime. Simultaneously becoming the only family in the world to offer a Hasbro-approved Optimus Prime replica truck, AND an incredible Transformers cosplay.

"It was time," says Joe Fiduccia. "It was time to up the ante and bring the ultimate Transformers experience into small-town USA."

Fiduccia started this endeavor in February of 2020. With the support of his wife and son, he began making plans for a wearable cosplay suit that pays homage to the very 1st generation of Optimus Prime. With a simple vision and yet minimal prop making experience, he started sketching out a plan of attack. The goal was to finish the suit in less than two months, and once again inspire his son to keep pushing his capabilities.

"I want my son Ryan to do everything he can to live life to its fullest," explains Fiduccia. "Just because we built a replica truck and have done some amazing things with it, that doesn't mean we stop there. He needs to realize that life is what you make of it. And that he should continue reaching for the stars."

Plans in place, Fiduccia got to work on the suit almost immediately. Progress was moving well, and he planned to unveil it at a convention they were scheduled to attend with their truck in late April 2020. But that is when the world went into quarantine. The 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and lock-down impacted people from all walks of life. And the Fiduccia's were not immune to its effects.

"Though we are grateful to still have our health, the pandemic placed us in a bad situation very quickly," explains Fiduccia. "Every show we were scheduled to bring our replica truck to in 2020 was either cancelled or placed on hold. We are self-employed, and all of our other businesses stopped running literally overnight. We always try to plan for things like this, but all of a sudden we were facing an uncertain and unpredictable future."

Yet despite the grim outlook, Fiduccia kept moving forward with the build. And though it took four months longer than expected, they finally completed it.

With the exception of the foam itself, the cosplay was built on a very strict budget and primarily with scrap materials. These include PVC pipe, coroplast, cardboard, vinyl siding, conduit, and whatever else Fiduccia had laying around the house. All of the cuts and measurements were done by eye, using cartoon printouts and a few handheld toys of the G1-style Optimus Prime. Though Fiduccia states they also deviated a bit and added their own personal touch to the design.

Fiduccia also tells us it was a struggle to stay motivated, and admits he went weeks without touching the project because of the pandemic.

"Let's be honest...it's been a depressing year for our nation thus far. And even today I still don't know what the second half of the year has in store. Because of COVID, I lost my motivation to continue with the build almost immediately after I started. I continue to be grateful for our health and the added time we spent together as a family. So as a father, I tried my best to stay on a positive track. I kept pushing through it, and ultimately completed it."

He goes on to say: "while the truck still stands at number one, this was undoubtedly one of the most difficult projects I had ever taken on," says Fiduccia. "Back in 2012 I built a Megatron cosplay from Transformers Prime . It's the only other cosplay suit I attempted building. While it taught me a lot in prep for this one, it also pales in comparison to the Optimus cosplay."

Towering almost 11-feet tall, their G1-inspired Optimus Prime cosplay features:

And all of it breaks down into smaller pieces for easier transport. "It literally takes up the entire rear cab of our Optimus Prime replica truck," jokes Fiduccia. "If we are making an appearance with just the cosplay, we'll need to rent a van in order to transport the parts."

But the end result is a pure show stopper - a cosplay that even industry professionals can appreciate and admire. Here are some photos from when it was finally completed:

"It gives me great pride to say we are the only family in the world who can offer this Optimus Prime duo," says Fiduccia. "Not only have we built a full-scale semi truck with legal permission from Hasbro, but now we bring even more to the table with this G1-inspired cosplay."

"We have the truck, which always becomes a show-stopper as soon as we roll into town. And now we can include the cosplay, which also satisfies the older generation fans who grew up with the 80's cartoon."

Fiduccia says they welcome the opportunity to bring both their truck and their cosplay to family-friendly events anywhere in the world. He also tells us they have implemented new safety measures as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, to help ensure fans have an enjoyable and safe photo experience.

"While we will certainly offer the cosplay by itself at events that can't always accommodate the truck, my hope is that the combination of both (combined with our charity fundraising options and our other vehicle partnerships on Team Prime) offers added incentive to show organizers and their communities. Story behind the build of the world's 1st AOE Optimus Prime replica

In 2016, Pennsylvania resident Joe Fiduccia, his wife Ania, and son Ryan became the first fans in the world to build a full-scale replica of the Optimus Prime Western Star truck. His newest vehicle form first made popular in the 2014 cinematic release of Transformers: Age of Extinction . It was a dream for Joe that was impossible. But it became a dream that was ultimately realized.

"Unless they've been following me from the beginning, people don't quite understand what it took to accomplish this", says Fiduccia. "They assume I drive trucks for a living, or that I come from a wealthy enough background. Like this was just a hobby we could afford splurging on. How wrong they are."

Fiduccia tells us that building a full-scale replica of Optimus was one of the most difficult things he has ever done. Nothing went according to plan, which resulted in hardships and turmoil that would make even the strongest of us crawl into a corner and cry.

"I obtained my CDL just to drive Optimus. I chose to obtain legal permission from Hasbro to build it. With the help of many, we replicated Optimus using nothing more than photos on the internet of the screen-used trucks. And I did it on a budget."

Optimus Prime grants Make-A-Wish for Transformers fan

Ernesto's mom, Doreen , happened to find a full-scale replica of Optimus Prime based just two hours away in Pennsylvania. So she contacted the Greater PA and WV Make-A-Wish chapter, who in turn contacted the owners of Optimus Prime in mid-December, asking what it would take to bring Optimus to Ernesto.

"The answer was absolutely, unequivocally YES. We just needed to coordinate all of the logistics and figure out the right time to do it", states Optimus owner Joe Fiduccia.

Fiduccia collaborated with Make-A-Wish, Ernesto's social worker, St. Christoper's Hospital for Children, the Philadelphia Police, and several partners on Team Prime to see if they could pull off a miracle before the Christmas holiday...and before the cold winter weather took over. Just 5 days after receiving the initial request, Optimus and Bumblebee arrived to meet Ernesto.

Joe Fiduccia and Rick Policastro spent almost 2 hours onsite at the hospital with Ernesto and his family. The visit came complete with a VIP photo shoot, a tour of the vehicles, several special gifts, video messages from other Bumblebee owners, and the best part - a RIDE as a passenger in Optimus Prime.

"The wish was absolutely my favorite one I ever witnessed in my 35 years as a social worker. It was all about Ernesto... it was all about his family... it was all about quality of life. It was perfect," explains his social worker Robin Capecci.

The surprise trip took Bee's owner Rick 9 hours away from his family in North Carolina. While much closer, Joe also spent over 8 hours cleaning Optimus for the reveal. And unfortunately met with some minor damage to one of the wheels while rolling through the streets of Philadelphia.

"Things can be replaced. That's the risk I take I suppose. But what we did for Ernesto today has become an experience I will forever cherish. I have absolutely no regrets at all", states Fiduccia.

Fiduccia was also joined by his entire family - Judy, Ania, and Ryan. Which made the trip even more special because of his continuing mission to inspire his son through the build and travels with Optimus.

"I wish we met Ernesto under better circumstances, but I really enjoyed it. I sometimes forget that we're the only ones in the world with a replica like this. It was nice to see how happy it made them," describes Joe's son Ryan.

Optimus Prime replica starts mission to end bullying

According to the National Bullying Prevention Center , 1 out of every 5 (20.8%) students have reported being bullied. Studies have shown that students who experience bullying are at "increased risk for poor school adjustment, sleep difficulties, anxiety, and depression. They are also at greater risk for both mental health and behavior problems than others."

Bullied students indicate that bullying has a negative effect on how they feel about themselves, their relationships with friends and family, and on their school work. And the sad reality is that bullying doesn't seem to go away as we get older. It just takes on a different form in the workplace and an online.

In short, bullying is an issue that needs to be addressed in a serious manner.

Enter Joe Fiduccia and his partner, Optimus Prime . The modern day heroes in disguise who have embarked on a mission most would say is impossible. A mission to end bullying once and for all.

"I've been bullied most of my life", says Fiduccia. "I understand how both children and grown adults can be affected by bullies. You sink into depression and lose your sense of self worth. You feel like everyone is against you, and just give up trying as a result."

Fiduccia, who built a full-scale replica of the Transformers truck to inspire his son, tours all over the country with Optimus for events and family-themed conventions of all types. But he tells us that 2019 in particular was a tough year for him, and a turning point in his mission with Optimus.

"I had grand ideas of partnering with Transformers fans from around the country", he says. "We would unite for the greater good. We would offer communities and individuals in need a personalized and meaningful experience. We would embark on projects that had never been done before. We would support worthwhile causes and charities. We would grow and change the world - together."

But much like the initial build of Optimus, unfortunately things did not go as Fiduccia had planned.

2019 posed several challenges with individuals Fiduccia had been partnering with. Challenges he was not expecting from people who didn't completely understand his vision or see things eye-to-eye. And when Joe decided to end some of those relationships, a few of them turned to a form of cyber bullying against Fiduccia in an attempt to defame him and stop his forward momentum.

"That was tough", states Fiduccia. "When I saw these hate messages pop up, I kept asking myself 'WHY'. It seemed like these people had nothing better to do than spy on me or attempt to create drama online where there wasn't any. And it hurt, especially because I was always respectful, courteous, and professional with them to the very end."

Because of those experiences in 2019, and factoring in a lifetime of experience dealing with bullies of all forms, Fiduccia started a campaign like no other. He believed in harnessing the power of his Optimus Prime replica to promote a message of hope and anti-bullying . A message that he has shared across several states for thousands of elementary school children. And a message that has already received national attention.

"Those bullies wanted a reaction from me. Well here it is. I can guarantee you they didn't see this response coming."

Working in conjunction with administrative staff, Fiduccia now coordinates stop at various school districts when en-route to an event. He spends almost an hour speaking to hundreds of children about his difficult journey with Optimus, and his experience with bullies. He encourages kids to take a stand against those who bring them down, and to keep moving forward despite what anyone else says or does to stop them.

Even Optimus speaks a few words during his presentation before Joe distributes anti-bully pledge cards to the students. Inviting them up for class photos alongside their Autobot hero when the presentation is finished.

"I am not a certified expert in bully prevention. And I recognize and appreciate all of the other organizations that are working hard to stop it. But I am unique. I come to these kids with real-world experiences, a background in public speaking, and a genuine desire to help. Not to mention my partner is a really, REALLY cool Autobot hero."

Fiduccia continues: "it took me a long time to realize that most bullies target you because THEY are the ones dealing with personal struggles in life. Struggles they are attempting to forget through bully behavior. They are the ones who see the world negatively, not me. So I want these kids to realize that if they are bullied, it likely has nothing to do with anything they said or did. And that they should never take it personally."

As of the date this article was published, Fiduccia had visited almost a dozen elementary schools from Pennsylvania to South Carolina to Texas. His campaign has been recognized by news outlets across each region, and the feedback from the administrators has been positive throughout.

"What a wonderful, positive message of empowerment and belief in oneself that you brought to all our students! A great example of how our dreams can become reality", shares an administrator from the Pleasant Valley School District in Pennsylvania.

Joe's vision for 2020 is to target and visit at least 100 schools or 10,000 children by the end of the year with Optimus. He believes he has the potential to inspire real change for children and adults alike. Though he admits he doesn't know how he'll pull it off financially, he maintains an open mind that someone will come forward to assist in accomplishing this seemingly impossible challenge.

"The partners I disassociated with in 2019 definitely do not represent the caliber of professionalism I had come to expect or was looking for. But I'm glad things ended how they did. Because it led me down this new path that will hopefully change lives all over the world. Not to mention these experiences with bullies continue providing me with teachable moments as a father."

When I first started with Rev, I knew I wanted to create my own persona for this car. So in her first stages I called the car ' RattleTrap' , as I had little faith in how long the car would last. My first modifications were just Autobot stickers and some Behr Ultra wall paint for a blue trim.

Then one day I decided an Autobot should have the proper weapons. So I started building some. They were small at first, and through the years got bigger and bolder. Some of them now permanently fixed to her body.

I painted her by hand, found her some wheels, started modifying the body, and finally realized that "Rattletrap" was no longer a suitable name for this car. It took me a while to come up with it, but that's how Rattletrap became ' Rev .'

When I started getting more daring in the very beginning of 2019, I ended up scrapping the original armored bumper and giving her one of her most prominent features: an armored double hood with lights, and more weaponry.

Rev's [Energon] lights are certainly my favorite feature. She can truly light up any area you place her in!"

According to Wilson, Rev's real mission started in 2018 when he found out that Optimus Is Here was coming to Connecticut for a Wishes on Wheels event.

Wilson continues...

"We managed to get into the event at the last second. And for the first time I got the chance to meet Optimus Prime and get photos of my own creation next to the most recognizable Transformer in the world."

Since then, Optimus owner Joe Fiduccia and Wilson have partnered on a variety of projects and appearances. They teamed up again several times in 2019 for a Motorsports Expo, a unique reveal experience for a family in Massachusetts, and at the 2019 Dream Ride for the special Olympians.

Rev also made her longest trip yet...visiting Pennsylvania to join Optimus at a small car show, finishing the day with a private event for one of the bravest kids Rev has ever met.

When asked what his favorite event with Rev has been overall, Wilson tells us: "I would say it's the Wishes on Wheels event. Before this, Rev was just an independent Autobot, freelancing around and showing up at basic car shows and places where she generally did not fit in whatsoever. But when I got the chance to bring her to see Optimus, it not only showed me that I can do great things with Rev to benefit earth and the people that live on it, but it also got Rev's giant Cybertronian foot in the door with a group of vehicles and owners that are just like her.

Finally, she'd found a place where she actually fit in, and it was very much appreciated!"

Wilson tells us that Rev's basic mission in the years ahead is to continue on with what they've been doing so far.

"She will continue growing, picking up more followers, fans, and friends to inspire. However, we are hoping to capture the eyes of Hasbro. I'm not sure what I'd like to have happen once we get their attention, but Rev wants to be recognized by Hasbro as a true Transformer and see just how far she can really go to establish herself in the world."

Pennsylvania father to build G1 Optimus Prime

During his daily commute to work, Bond just happened to pass a 1972 Kenworth Cab Over sitting idle on a farm for an extended time. No for sale sign. Just sitting, rusting. His friend, Joe Fiduccia, who owns the AOE Optimus Prime replica , also passed it one day. Putting up a post on social media with a picture of it, teasing at the notion of building his own G1 version.

That social media post went viral. Fans from all over the world wanted to see an 'original' Optimus Prime replica. Bond contacted Fiduccia and explained how he, too, was interested in making it happen. The only difference, Bond was willing to take that leap of faith...putting up the money and purchasing it a few months later.

"I saw this truck sitting out there everyday on the way to work. Finally the guy was sitting out one day and I asked him if he wanted to sell it," explains Bond.

While Bond is still uncertain exactly which Optimus Prime he plans on replicating, he seems to be leaning towards the Marmon version...made popular in the 2014 cinematic film Transformers: Age of Extinction . He acknowledges that his truck is not a mirror image to the Marmon, but still plans on pursuing that style anyway.

"It's a very tough decision. We tried letting the fans pick, and the fans are all over the place. Pretty much whichever way it starts going...it starts going. But it's a budget build and we're doing the best we can", Bond says.

Bond readily admits the project is much more complicated than he expected. The truck has been towed from shop to shop while Bond gets the runaround from mechanics who promise to work on it but don't deliver. Shane eventually decided to bring it back home and do some of the work himself.

As of the date this article was written, his truck was residing at a friend's home who works on it from time to time. In 2018, he was able to get in running and shifting under it's own power. But a lot of mechanical and body work still remained. Here are some photos of it's current condition:

Notchback K.I.T.T. returns for action in 2020

Knight Rider was one of the most television shows in the mid 1980's, produced by Universal Studios spanning 4 seasons from 1982 through 1986. K.I.T.T. was the car of the future with artificial intelligence that could do just about anything. The sleek lines of that black t-top are enough to make any sports car fanatic drool. In fact many 80's kids consider K.I.T.T. the original prototype for the technology seen in modern day vehicles.

And now more than 35 years later, you have the chance to see K.I.T.T. once again.

Thanks to the efforts of a small family from northeastern Pennsylvania, a fully functional replica of the 80's Trans Am is now alive and ready for action. Joe Fiduccia, owner of " Notchback KITT ", brought this legend back to life for the purposes of not only reliving his childhood dream, but also starting a new chapter in his family of three.

"We were at a car show one day, before K.I.T.T., and we really enjoyed the atmosphere", says Joe. "We used to take a lot of motorcycle rides together. But Ryan was still a baby, and those weekend getaways came to an abrupt halt. So we weren't really sure what to do in our spare time. Then is dawned on us."

His wife Ania and son Ryan on board, the Fiduccia's decided to embark on a new journey to build a killer replica of K.I.T.T. One that would turn heads at every corner. So that evening after the car show, Joe began researching black Trans-Ams online while simultaneously researching the complexities of K.I.T.T. conversion.

"We had two criteria - a) the car had to be originally black, and b) it had to be in good running condition."

Joe eventually located a donor car in North Carolina. It was a 1988 Trans-Am GTA Notchback edition (a one-year only production option where the hatch sported a low profile style). Joe took a one-way flight to North Carolina to do a full inspection on the vehicle. He came to an agreement on price with the seller, and drove it 10 hours back home without incident.

"If you really want to test drive a car, drive it 10 hours across state lines. You'll know very quickly if your decision was a good one", exclaims Fiduccia.

It was soon thereafter that Joe, Ania, and Ryan began to disassemble the donor car...converting it to look like K.I.T.T. over the course of about one year. Joe was able to locate hobbyists online who made some of the parts, while others had to be made on his own. The motor and drive train were in generally good shape, but required some repairs and upgrades as well.

And in the Summer of 2011, K.I.T.T. was born. Complete with the functions and weaponry that made him famous on TV. Their replica not only looks like K.I.T.T., but the Fiduccia's have setup the ability to hold a two-way conversation with the vehicle. They have installed a CO2 suppressant system in the front, a rear CO2 rocket launch system, a jet turbine sound system that syncs with the engine's throttle, and much more.

Joe tells us: "it was important for me to bring out K.I.T.T.'s character. He had to be more than just a vehicle. He had to have attitude and intelligence. And I believe we have accomplished that."

The Fiduccia's began taking K.I.T.T. across the country to comic conventions, auto shows, 80's-themed events, and fundraisers. They enjoyed sharing it so much that they even created a Facebook page for fans to follow their adventures. Unfortunately K.I.T.T. was placed in storage for several years while the Fiduccia's attempted to build a replica of Optimus Prime . And once the truck was built, they lacked the resources to keep K.I.T.T. on the road.

But that all changed in 2019 when they made a decision to bring K.I.T.T. back online.

"The car represents a simpler time in our lives", says Ania. "It was important for us to go back to our roots as a family and enjoy the creation that was built solely for our pleasure and enjoyment."

The Fiduccia's ended 2019 on a high note by returning to an indoor auto show with K.I.T.T. for the first time in over 3 years. As 2020 approaches, they vowed to keep K.I.T.T. on the road and bring him to conventions and shows whenever possible. Because they realize the value of their replica, and the nostalgic nature of a simple car that ultimately "transformed" history.

Optimus Prime supports Cystic Fibrosis research at local truck show

"It was an opportunity that had never been offered before in the state of Pennsylvania", says Smith. "Attempting to get one of the screen-used trucks would be way too expensive. Joe's replica is very well done, he is local, and he is willing to offer perks that the screen-used versions can't."

In 2018, the Truckers 4 Hope Jamboree was hit with inclement weather, severely impacting attendance at the show. But that did not stop fans from gathering for a chance to meet Optimus for the first time.

Joined by a Bumblebee replica, Fiduccia arrived to the fairgrounds on that rainy Saturday morning, one day after receiving his first Krown treatment. Attendees lined up and waited upwards of 45 minutes for a chance to get their photo with the magnificent truck. They donated between $5 - 10 in exchange for driver seat photos with the vehicles. And by the end of the day, Team Prime was able to raise close to $500.00.

The experience was so popular and gained even more publicity after the show ended, that Smith invited Fiduccia back for a second round in 2019. Fans were once again offered with an option to get photos, some of them driving from more than 3 hours away. But 2019 also brought in a few new perks, including a full size Bumblebee big rig tribute owned by Chris and Faith Olmstead.

"Next to Optimus, this has to be one of the coolest Transformers-themed tribute trucks I've ever seen", says Fiduccia.

While in town, Joe also planned a stop at the local Elementary school of Smith's son Hayze. One day before the truck show, he brought Optimus to their school and encourage kids to join him in his new mission to end bullying . It was a visit that quickly got the attention of the news and media while simultaneously creating even more buzz for the pending truck show.

"When you work together with a common goal, and when you commit to building an experience that will make everyone walk away happy, you can do some pretty incredible things", says Fiduccia.

While it is unclear if Fiduccia will return to the show with his Optimus replica in 2020, he tells us he is grateful for the experience to help support a local cause and family.

"That is exactly what Optimus Prime would do if he was real", states Fiduccia. "He would help others in a time of need, while building a better foundation for our children's future."

Replica of Optimus Prime includes several upgrades worthy of a Prime

"The whole idea in the beginning was to show my son, Ryan, that anything is possible", says Fiduccia. "To show him that he can accomplish his dreams if he is willing to put in the time and the work necessary to achieve his goals. But I've come to understand that there is more to it. My mission doesn't stop just because I successfully replicated a fancy truck."

Now several years later, Fiduccia has made it his new mission to show the world that his truck is the closest thing to Optimus Prime that most folks will ever see...both in body and in spirit.

Fiduccia tells us: "from Day 1, people have come up to me commenting on the quality of our replica. They notice things that the screen-used trucks don't have, they point out myriad of differences between the two, and they make it a point to tell me how they prefer seeing our truck over the originals. That is has more character. So I started thinking of ways I could harness that feedback and convert it to something more meaningful."

And that's when Fiduccia's replica truly took on a form of its own.

Over the course of the past several years, and with the support of Transformers fans like himself, Fiduccia has added several upgrades and modifications to his replica that were not on the originals. For example, both the left and right front bumper covers sport custom airbrush designs.

The driver side contains a tribute to our country's military veterans, while the passenger side shows a tribute to Kyle Comeau , the graphics artist who designed the original flames seen on Optimus. Kyle tragically died shortly before getting the chance to paint those screen-used trucks. Fiduccia learned about Kyle's story in 2017, and with the help of his parents Paul and Vicki, the tribute was created by Kyle's mentor and friend.

Fiduccia has also installed a custom entertainment system on the truck, complete with an 8-speaker setup that projects the voice of Optimus Prime using sound bytes from the cinematic films. Some of which was installed thanks to a partnership with a local auto shop called Custom Import Performance .

As the result of another partnership with a company on the west coast called CryoFx , Fiduccia has added an advanced CO2 system to Optimus. One that shoots clouds of CO2 gas from 10 different locations when Optimus speaks.

"It's the one thing I was lacking", says Fiduccia. The presence of the truck is enough. When he speaks it brings more life to it. But then when it was over, I felt like it needed something more. That's when the CO2 came to mind. And it's over-the-top awesome. Families are quite literally blown away when they see it."

And as if that isn't enough, this replica of Optimus lights up with a full energon glow at night. Thanks to one of the first partnership's transpiring back in 2017 with Firewire LED's, over 120 ft of blue strip lights emit a glow below the truck and even inside the stacks, giving kids the illusion that this replica runs on the same fuel as a real Transformer.

Adding more life to Prime is an 8-foot sword prop he built from 2 planks of wood. A prop that he installs on the back of Optimus for most shows. Fiduccia says he has plans in 2020 to build a few more props, including a 3-foot All Spark cube that will eventually hover over the 5th wheel when on display.

Fiduccia's modifications continue with a custom mural of Optimus Prime on the back of the truck, just behind the 5th wheel plate. This design of Optimus not only covers the unsightly rear end components, but also incorporates several hidden messages in the form of constellations and Cybertronian lettering that only Joe and a select few know about.

The same artist from MoralChaos Studios also designed a new graphic that is prominently displayed between the majestic stacks on Optimus Prime. In incorporates an image of the Matrix (the element that provides a Transformer the wisdom of Primes past), and it includes the phrase "Unleash Your Inner Prime."

"That message is for all of those people who doubt themselves", explains Fiduccia. "In this journey with Optimus especially, I have encountered plenty of people who doubt me and attempt to bring me down. It's yet another form of bullying that needs to stop. So this is my message for those passing me on the highway. Those people I'll never meet face-to-face. A message to those who feel bullied to stand up and unleash their inner potential."

Fiduccia says he has plenty more ideas in store to continue adding life into his replica. And boasts that the ability to even make it 'transform' is something he's always considered. However Fiduccia continues to struggle keeping Optimus on the road financially, and thus remains limited in what he can implement He also says that his primary objective is to keep Optimus safe and street legal.

Joe hopes that his continued partnerships with companies across the country will eventually help his ideas come to fruition in the years ahead. In the meantime, we think Optimus looks perfect just the way he is. Regardless of the differences between his and the screen-used versions. Well done Joe!

Optimus Prime replica supports special Olympians at 2019 Dream Ride

Joe Fiduccia, owner of Optimus is Here , partnered with Tony "Preacher " Rossetti, who represents the Enforcers. The pair met at another event earlier in the year. FIduccia had his truck on display and Rossetti was one of the head security guards. The two started up a conversation that ultimately led to a newfound friendship. One that would eventually reunite them several months later for the Dream Ride.

"I don't know what it was, but I felt a personal connection with Preacher. He was down to Earth, easy to speak with, and had a genuine interest in making a positive difference", explains Fiduccia..

Rossetti was able to rally support from the Enforcers to help Fiduccia bring Optimus to the Dream Ride. They setup a once-in-a-lifetime photo opp, complete with a red carpet. Over the course of several days, Fiduccia offered complimentary photos with Optimus to every special Olympian at no charge. An in-kind donation that would have yielded just over $1900.00 at other events where attendees make a donation to sit in the driver seat.

He was also joined by Autobot Rev , a member of Team Prime, and by Imprintable Solutions , who transferred the photos onto a complimentary t-shirt for each and every Olympian.

"This type of experience has never been offered before at the Dream Ride, and I believe it set the bar for future events. It also helped recognize who the Enforcers are, and how hard we work to make a true impact for these Olympians", states Rossetti.

How Optimus Prime stays protected from rust

And that is why he has partnered with Krown , who makes a petroleum based product with rust inhibitors that are designed to slow down or inhibit corrosion on vehicles.

Fiduccia first learned about Krown via a random message he received from a follower on his Facebook page back in 2017 named Brian Courtney. Courtney is an employee of Krown who covers the same region where Joe is based. As an avid fan of Transformers himself, Brian decided to see if Joe was interested in protecting Optimus with their product.

"I was not expecting the message, and at the time had no idea who Krown was," explains Fiduccia. "I take such good care of Optimus on the visible components like the paint and chrome. And it turns out Krown provides a way to do the same thing underneath in areas I can't get to. So I had to give it a try."

Courtney and Fiduccia worked out an agreement to bring Optimus to Armor LInings , one of their Krown application facilities based in West Middlesex, PA. Owner Ray Lucich was onsite and ready to see what he could do for Optimus.

"Our facility is the only one within 500 miles that can accommodate a big rig like Optimus Prime", says Luchich. "We have the space and equipment needed to raise Optimus up and get into every nook and cranny from top to bottom."

Fiduccia has so far been pleased with the product. He says it does as it claims...not removing rust, but preventing it from getting worse. He also received a case of Krown in the form of spray cans that he uses for touch up, and to get into the smaller areas of Optimus that the larger facilities can't reach.

"The first time I got the treatment in 2017, we sprayed Krown along the entire frame above and below", says Fiduccia. "The problem came in from driving. A lot of the product would sling up from the drivetrain, covering the aluminum tanks, cab rack, and stacks. Making it much more difficult to prep Optimus for the next show."

But that problem was remedied when Fiduccia returned to Armor Linings in 2018. He goes on to say: "this time we took much more care in protecting certain elements while applying the product to only specific areas on the truck. By the time I made the 4-hour drive back home, you could barely see any residue."

Maine resident living her dream with Bumblebee replica convertible

Hiram, Maine resident Michelle Stosez is a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician that runs with two Rescue Services. She has earned her Class B CDL and drives both motor coaches and school buses.

But when she's not on the job, Stosez gets behind the wheel of something much smaller, and yet much cooler. A lemon yellow 2017 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. Sporting the RS package, 334 horsepower, and 295 foot pounds of torque.

Or, better known to most of the children out there as Bumblebee !

"Strangely enough, it was as simple as: 'I needed a car'". explains Stosez. "My Subaru was on its last leg and I needed a car that was sensible, economical and was able to handle the harsh Maine winters. *cough, cough* Ahem."

Stosez tells us she was originally going to purchase a Ford Escape. In fact she already had financing in place, and her husband was actually on the way to the dealership to finalize the paperwork when she found Bumblebee online. 3000 miles away in the state of Washington!

"He was the dream I never knew I had. So I took the leap of faith. My husband supported my crazy decision, and I purchased Bee without ever having sat in him. He was mine. He had called to me and I was luckily in a position to answer."

With the purchase of her Ford Escape now a distant memory, Stosez immediately struck a deal to have Bumblebee shipped across the country to Maine. Her dream car finally arrived in March 2018, waiting to meet his new owner.

"I remember seeing him in person for the first time", explains Stosez. "I swear to this day, he winked at me. So of course I winked back. After picking it up, I was smiling the whole way home, thinking to myself: 'what have you done?!'”

When asked what her plans are with Bumblebee, Stosez tells us it's simply a dream come true to drive it.

"I had no plans for him, other than to enjoy the convertible as much as the Maine weather would allow. And to customize him solely for my own enjoyment, after Michael Bay’s Age of Extinction Bumblebee. I do realize that the Bay version of Bumblebee was not a convertible, a feature that your more conservative Transformers fans have taken issue with. But Bee was not purchased with the intent to go to Expo’s as a Bumblebee clone. He is my guilty pleasure, my daily driver, my grocery getter in the warmer months. I have to say that more than one person who has ridden in Bee has stated that, 'I now know why you got the convertible,' as it is an amazing experience."

She goes on to say: "the roof can automatically 'transform' via my handheld remote. So if I have a child or a crowd around Bee he will “transform” with no one in the driver's seat, seemingly all on his own in response to the situation around him. It has on more than one occasion shocked children and created a new depth to the awe that Bee can inspire."

Stosez wasted no time implementing a few upgrades and modifications to her Bumblebee convertible shortly after acquiring it. For the gear heads and Transformers fans alike, some of those changes include:

- Purchasing a vanity plate that supports our country's military. It currently reads "BEEE".

- Replacing the tires and rims with Black Satin 20” rims modeled after Hellfires and high performance 245 40R20 tires. She also installed matching black satin lug nut covers and wheel weights.

- Adding matte black stripes and decals along the hood and trunk lid.

- Installing app-based LED underglow lighting and cab floor LED lighting, both of which were wired to connect to a regular power outlet (thus eliminating battery drain at shows and expos).

- Adding Cybertronian Glyph messages on the rear bumper that Optimus is Here cut for them, forming a secret message near and dear to Stosez's heart.

- And most recently, upgrading Bee with straight exhaust pipes. Which eliminates the bulky muffler and allows the beautiful purr of a Camaro to come through.

Like any project car, Bee is always a work in progress. But Stosez is a Transformers geek at heart. So when she isn't upgrading him, she enjoys taking her car to events where she can meet other Transformers fans. Stosez regularly attends car shows and fundraising events where she can help bring smiles to people and even assist those who are going through a difficult time.

Stosez and her Bee have also been fortunate enough to make a few appearances alongside the only AOE replica of Optimus Prime in the world. Stosez explains those moments in her own words:

"I remember swimming at a hotel in New Hampshire when I heard the familiar ping of an Instant Message. I went to check my phone immediately and saw a strange IM from a guy named Joe asking about my Bee and if we would be interested in attending a Comic Expo in Maine . It was surreal and I distinctly remember yelling, 'OMG this can't be real!' in the echoing space of the indoor pool area. I was actually asked by a nearby swimmer if I was ok.

To say I was glowing and excited was putting it mildly. I was blown away by the offer as I remember seeing a TV show featuring Optimus and Joe, and of course I followed him on social media. So to be offered the chance to drive with and share the floor with Optimus was a true Transformers fan dream come true."

Stosez tells us that immediately after agreed on the phone to join Joe at an upcoming convention just days away, she spent the next two days in her barn applying the vinyl stripes. She also made a new contact at a nearby Chevy dealership that went above and beyond to shuffle a few things around and make the time to put on the rims and tires the day before the event.

"It is still amazing to me how many people had to come together to make that Expo happen for Bee and Me. Most importantly Optimus and Joe gave 'Bee and Me' the opportunity to raise funds for a local 1st Responder during that Expo."

As of the date this article was released, the furthest Stosez had driven Bumblebee was for an event alongside Optimus in Hanover, Massachusetts. But Stosez loves to travel, and says she would truly welcome the opportunity get outside of New England and share her love of all things Transformers at expos or fundraisers.

"Distance is not an issue for us. We love to be given the chance to light up someone's eyes when they meet Bee. To see their longtime friend, 'Bumblebee in the flesh' is a big moment for a lot of people. We enjoy and are honored to be a part of it."

Bee and Me started out as a Mom wanting a car she shouldn’t have, with a husband supporting her crazy decision and kids that quietly stood by her. Stosez says that the Transformers have been large part of her life since 1984, and that they have influenced so much of what she has done and still does.

"Transformers fans are a family like no other. 'Bee and Me' are proud to be a small part of it."

Optimus raises $1470 for Children's Youth Project

Owner Joe Fiduccia tells us: "no matter where I go with Optimus , I make a conscious effort to help local causes and charities to the best of my ability. Provided we can figure out the logistics with the show organizers and obtain the proper insurance coverage, it is a pleasure to offer fans the chance to make a difference while getting up close and personal with their favorite Transformer."

The weekend of Celebrity Fan Fest was a hot one at the start of the summer season. People were looking for something fun to do indoors, and this show was the perfect solution. Before the event opened its doors, Optimus stopped at a local EVO Entertainment facility for a two-hour promotional spotlight. Fans who did not have the means or time to attend Fan Fest had a chance to see Optimus at no charge and take photos.

Throughout the weekend, Fiduccia was greeted by families who claimed Optimus was the only reason they came to the Expo. During the show, attendees donated $15.00, waiting patiently in line to pose for photos alongside and inside Optimus. 50% of those proceeds went straight to SA Youth. And when the weekend came to an end, Fiduccia single-handedly raised $1470.00 for the organization.

SA Youth was more than appreciative for the generous donation, crediting Fiduccia and Celebrity Fan Fest for their unsolicited efforts to support a local cause. Fiduccia states he would love to return to Fan Fest in 2020 with a mission to beat that number. And we believe with the fan's help, he has the ability to do it!

Optimus Prime replica comes to life with sound and CO2 effects

Building a full-scale replica of the Optimus Prime Western Star truck, first made popular in the 2014 cinematic release of Transformers: Age of Extinction , apparently wasn't enough for Pennsylvania resident and owner Joe Fiduccia. Sure... it's an incredible piece of artwork. And yes...it's very unique (one of only 3 trucks anywhere in the world that look like this). But it needed something else. Something that would stop the kids in their tracks.

And the custom CO2 system provided by CryoFx has accomplished just that.

"During shows, there are times throughout the day that I make Optimus talk using an amplified audio system mounted to the truck", explains Fiduccia. "One of the last things he says is very compelling. But I always felt like I could do just a bit more at that moment to bring it to life for the kids."

Fiduccia tells us that since the truck doesn't physically transform in any way (YET), the imagination of the kids who see it tends to wander. And sometimes they'll question if they their Cybertronian hero is real...or if it's 'just a fancy truck.'

"I don't want to be the one who disappoints them. So I tell them Optimus is maintaining his disguise at all times in case the Decepticons are nearby."

After about a year attending various conventions and community events, Fiduccia decided it was time to do more than just make Optimus talk. So he began researching options to blow smoke out of the six stacks. After realizing that fog machines would not accomplish the effect he was looking for, he recalled videos from years ago spotlighting 'CO2 cannons'. So he began looking into those, and eventually came across a company called CryoFx, based on the West Coast.

Kris Mullins, owner of CryoFx, immediately responded to Fiduccia's online inquiry about building a custom CO2 burst setup for his Optimus Prime replica. The pair designed a system specific to this truck, complete with hoses, fittings, nozzles, and tanks.

Fiduccia received the parts in record time, and spent about 5 full days installing all of the CO2 lines into Optimus. In total, his replica now shoots out CO2 from 10 different locations on the truck (one in each stack, 2 in the back, and 2 in the front). And combined with the original voice overs, audiences all over the country absolutely love it.

"It almost always results in a round of a applause from fans", says Fiduccia. "The truck talks for about 3 minutes. So at that point, no one is expecting CO2 to magically shoot out. It scares them, but they love it at the same time."

The CO2 setup runs off of two 35 LB tanks mounted inside the cab, which are capable of delivering up to 10 2-second bursts. The nozzles are permanently mounted inside the stacks and to the frame of the cab, allowing Fiduccia to use the system at anytime.

"What I love is that it is also safe to use outdoors or inside. It dissipates almost instantly, and doesn't fill the room with smoke or inadvertently set off any fire alarms."

Fiduccia tells us he is extremely satisfied with the system. His only main gripe is the influence of weather and temperature. He says the CO2 burst produces a magnificent cloud in colder temperatures, but is minimized greatly when ambient temperatures are above 50 degrees.

"It doesn't matter though. Because this is the one thing I was missing. This is the one thing that truly brings our replica to life in the best and safest way possible."

Optimus Prime and team raise thousands for local firefighter

And living up to the name is exactly what Fiduccia and his team did at the 2019 Great Falls Comic Expo Spring Edition, raising close to $3000.00 in just two days for a local firefighter who received a new heart.

Tim Smith had to step down as Chief of Fire and EMS in Sebago, Maine after being placed on the priority list for a heart transplant in late March. Smith had severe heat disease and after about 30 procedures, including 13 stents to keep his vessels open, doctors told him his only option to survive was a new heart,

Smith received that new heart right around the time of the Great Falls Comic Expo. A procedure that added to the hefty medical bills piling up in Smith's home. So Fiduccia worked out a deal with show organizer Ben Santos from Tea & Lobster Productions to help Smith pay at least some of those bills using funds raised at the show.

"Joe was at the expo last year supporting a gentleman who received a double-lung transplant", explains Santos. "The show was a resounding success and set the stage for an even better fundraising performance in 2019. So when the offer was presented to assist Tim, I knew we had the ability to make a true impact with Joe's help."

Fiduccia and Santos coordinated a fundraising experience that rallied the entire community. They partnered with Sebago EMS lead (and personal friend of Tim) Jason Schoolcraft to coordinate a grand entrance into town, complete with Fire & Rescue vehicles as well as a Police escort. Fiduccia kick started the campaign with a live Facebook video advertising the opportunity for people to come to the Expo and experience a fun family afternoon while also supporting a great cause.

With the help of a Bumblebee replica and others alongside Optimus Prime, Fiduccia set up a Transformers attraction on the show floor of the Expo. They offered driver seat photos to fans for a minimum donation of $10 - $15.00 per person. 50% of those proceeds went directly to Tim Smith. And the line of people waiting for a photo stretched across the entire show floor.

"People were entering the show asking right away where to find Team Prime. Families were over-the-top excited at the chance to see something as unique as Optimus", says Santos. "Firefighters even came to the show to help their comrade. The support from the community was overwhelming."

The Great Falls Comic Expo spanned two days. During that time, Fiduccia and team were able to raise over $2800.00 for Smith and his medical bills. Michelle Stosez, the owner of Bumblebee and a last minute entry after another Bee owner cancelled last minute, even chipped in to boost the initial fundraising results to that number.

"Being part of this experience with Team Prime was the highlight of the year for me", says Stosez. "Giving something extra to Tim was the least I could do to show my appreciation."

Though the 2019 show was a huge success for Santos and his team, he was not sure if the Great Falls Comic Expo would return in 2020. But if they do, you can rest assured Fiduccia will remain committed to surpassing the fundraising records they have set in the previous two years.

Optimus owner meets Executive Producer of Transformers Prime

Kline runs Darby Pop Publishing , a comic book imprint designed to create new genre comics. In 2018 he was invited to attend an Expo in Maine as a special guest and vendor. It just so happened that the Fiduccia family also had a trip planned to the same expo, setting up an exhibit with their replica of Optimus.

As if you couldn't already tell, Joe Fiduccia is an avid fan of Transformers. But more specifically, he absolutely LOVES the Transformers Prime series. It premiered on the Hub Network between 2010 and 2013, long before they even considered the idea of building a Prime. At the time, the Fiduccia's fell in love with the show, and consider it one of the best animated series to ever come out of the Transformers franchise.

"We enjoyed it so much that we even built a full-scale Megatron cosplay that I could wear for Halloween one year", Joe explains. "When it was finished, my son Ryan dressed up as Optimus Prime. We then visited a local mall for trick-or-treating."

Fast forward to the Great Falls Comic Expo in 2018, Joe would find himself meeting the Executive Producer of that same series he watched with Ryan every Friday evening.

Joe tells us: "when Ben [organizer of the Expo] told me about Jeff Kline, I couldn't contain my excitement. I remained calm and collected on the outside, but on the inside I was giddy like a school-aged kid. Mainly because it presented an opportunity for my son that he otherwise wouldn't of had if we didn't build Optimus."

Both Joe and Kline opened a dialog at the Expo. They shared their favorite memories of Transformers Prime with one another, and Kline was quite impressed with Joe's build. Joe's family (son Ryan and wife Ania) both got the chance to meet Jeff as well.

Kline was even gracious enough to do an interview with Joe, which can be seen below from the Optimus Is Here YouTube channel .

Both Kline and the Fiduccia family reunited in 2019 at the same Expo. A few months later, they came together again on a more personal level, enjoying the afternoon exploring the sites of Kline's hometown in Maine.

"Building Optimus Prime nearly destroyed our family. And to this day we are still struggling because of it", says Joe. "But it's moments like these that give me a chance to experience the positive side of our journey. And it allows me to show my son that no matter how hard things seem, amazing opportunities such as this one could be waiting for him just around the corner."

Firewire LED's spark new life into Optimus Prime

POP QUIZ!. What do all Cybertronian bots run on? What is the fuel that gives them life? What are both the Decepticons and the Autobots constantly searching for on Earth?

If you said "energon", you would be correct! Energon is the life blood of all Transformers. And while there are different forms and colors of energon, most bots run on the standard blue.

When this replica of Optimus was built in 2016, one of the first things the owner (Joe Fiduccia) wanted to do is add blue lighting to it. Not just along the bottom, but throughout the truck from top-to-bottom.

"For starters, I wanted lights inside the vents, the upper stacks, and the grill", says Fiduccia. "I wanted to make it look like Optimus was truly running on energon from the inside."

Over the winter, Fiduccia researched lighting options and even purchased a few lighting kits from several companies. He wanted to test the waters on quality while seeing for himself which lights would produce the best effect. But unfortunately most of the products did not meet his expectations.

"There was something wrong with everything I tested", says Fiduccia. "Either the lights were too dim, too bulky, or just too complicated to install. Others had the brightness and ease of installation I was looking for, but the short shelf life or poor online reviews turned me off immediately."

In the midst of his search, one of the first major events Fiduccia drove Optimus to was a World of Wheels expo in March 2017. Vending at the same expo was a gentleman named Brian Rogers, CEO of Firewire LED's . The two got to talking, and immediately hit it off.

"The lights he set up at his booth seemed to be very high quality. They were bright, flexible, simple to install, and were covered by an excellent warranty. But it helped that Brian was also into the truck and loves Transformers", joked Fiduccia.

Fiduccia explained his needs to Rogers, and the pair agreed to do a trial test run of the lights on Optimus. A few weeks later, Rogers built a few sample kits for Joe to install inside each of the six stacks. And the success of that install kick-started a partnership for years to come.

Fiduccia's replica of Optimus now contains over 130-feet of Firewire LED energon lighting, scattered across several different areas of the truck. His replica also sports Firewire headlights and auxiliary Firewire brake lights. He says a few strips have needed replacement over the years, but Firewire has stood behind their warranty and provided exactly what he needed in record time.

"I'm not done", says Fiduccia. "I have plenty more lighting I want to add. And when it's time, Firewire will be the first place I turn to for help."

When asked about his partnership with Fiduccia, Rogers explains it has been very rewarding thus far.

"Working with Optimus Prime has been very special.. It's a great feeling to see the joy when kids see it. When it lights up a night, everybody's in awe."

$4000 raised by Optimus and team for Children's Miracle Network

"Supporting the children is what Optimus Prime as a character would do", says Fiduccia. "The entire franchise was built for kids and young adults. So when the show promoter suggested supporting their local CMN, it was a no-brainer for me."

Optimus and the other replicas set up for the 4-day show in Harrisburg, PA. Throughout the event, fans were presented with an option to get driver seat photos with their favorite bot. And in this case, 100% of the proceeds would go directly to the charity.

As it's a rare site, the majority of fans clamored to get up close with Optimus. But several kids couldn't wait to meet their personal favorite (Bumblebee) as well. "

While Fiduccia says he is no longer partnered with these particular vehicles and their owners. he is grateful for the experience they offered that winter, and believes the experience is one local fans won't soon forget.

"It was an exhausting but very successful weekend", explains Fiduccia. "We broke records and did something that to my knowledge has never been offered before in the history of the Transformers franchise."

Optimus replica meets up with screen-used Optimus Prime

It's a rare site when not one, but TWO trucks resembling the iconic Optimus Prime converge on the same town to meet up with one another. But that's exactly what happened in Spring of 2017, when the Fiduccia family (owners of the world's only AOE replica Optimus Prime truck) found themselves face-to-face with the truck they painstakingly replicated.

Shortly after the release of Transformers: Age of Extinction , Pennsylvania resident Joe Fiduccia and his family decided to attempt the impossible: replicating the newest version of Optimus in his Western Star form. Why was it impossible? Well, that's another story for another time. But we invite you to read up on it a bit from our facts page .

Shortly after completing the initial build, Fiduccia was contacted by a friend and North Carolina resident Thomas Blackstone . Blackstone had assisted Fiduccia during the build by providing some crucial information and images of the screen-used truck that he obtained from his travels over the road.

"He called me up one day out of the blue and said 'Optimus is down here'", explains Joe. "You need to contact these people and get your truck here."

It turns out that one of the two screen used trucks had made an appearance at a local touch-a-truck event in North Carolina earlier in the week. Blackstone obtained some contact information from the show and passed it along to Joe.

Fiduccia subsequently called the organizers of that touch-a-truck event, explaining who he was and asking if they would place him in touch with the owners of the screen-used Optimus. They agreed, and 24 hours later, Joe received a call from one of the Daimler union managers, Cody.

"When he called, I was nervous," says Joe. "I didn't know what to say other than the truth. I explained to him that we built a full-scale replica of their truck to inspire my son Ryan, and that it would be an honor to place it side-by-side with theirs. I wasn't looking for anything in return, and simply wanted to show Ryan that all of the pain we had gone through was worth it for this opportunity."

The screen-used truck was about to be placed on a cargo ship and sent to London for the premier of Transformers: The Last Knight . But just a few days after that conversation with Cody, Fiduccia's dream became reality. He was side-by-side with the truck he had attempted to replicate just one year ago.

Joe tells us: "I was speechless. Our family lost almost everything because of this build. And I had personally entered a severe depression, wondering if our decision to replicate Optimus was the right one. But on that day...it felt right. On that day, I was able to show Ryan what life's rewards can look like if you just keep the faith."

Ania, Joe, and Ryan Fiduccia spent almost 4 hours with Cody and his team in North Carolina. The team was extremely impressed with their build. They were gracious enough to do an interview with Joe, which even turned into an unexpected viral video online. Before departing, they gave Joe a tour of the factory where his replica truck (the base Western Star) was built.

"It was awesome", says his son Ryan. "I really enjoyed it."

"I am proud of Joe", says his wife Ania. "He worked hard for this, and our family needed a break."

Joe tells us the screen-used trucks had been modified slightly from his replica of the Age of Extinction version. And that there were some noticeable differences between the two.

"They modified their front end. Their hood scoop was much lower than the first version, and the Autobot emblem in the front changed in design. But those were the biggest variations. Most of the other differences in things like paint color, cab size, and custom mods I already knew about before coming here."
